Lids impossible to get on or off

The idea for this little crock pot is wonderful, I wanted to love it when I saw it, and I needed something like this for taking a lunch to work, but…getting the inner lid ON or OFF is simply impossible. Ditto for the outer lid. What in the world is making this so difficult? Not fun. Poor design I guess.

Hello!
We are sorry to hear you are having troubles opening and closing the lid. We recommending rinsing the lid to remove any possible residue. Please be cautious about the charging port. Cover the charging port and hold the product upside down while rinsing the rim.

If you have any more questions or concerns, please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am -5 pm Eastern Time.

Paint peeling from outer rim

I loved this crockpot and used 3-4 times a week. The paint around the rim is now flaking off. Looks terrible. I have always kept it clean. Not happy. I don’t want that getting near me lunch.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

bought used a few years ago, and since, I could be a marketing rep for this item. I've inspired NOT a few sales.
i often work in a travel setting, or work far removed from any sort of break-kitchen, so setting myself up for success with a portion of whatever soup is in my 'home' crockpot really makes a difference.
Traveling, I've used it and wonder at those who bring their Instapots: much larger and heavier! I've mostly made hot cereals and soup with the lunch-crockpot.
I can create a 'menu' bringing a bit of a few different hot cereals, fruit/nuts/cream or milks for a breakfast, and whatever-goes for soup options, including rehydrating soup-type products meant for camping, jarred soup from home, etc.
Reheating take-out is pretty easy -- and doesn't mean thrashing around to find something to reheat/serve while using a hotel microwave: bonus!
My only disappointment IS the interior lid: I've had a nosey party open it while it was warming (ugh! and dairy-based chowder! sloppy!) Redesign with an second screwing lid that seals, or snap-seal, or such, might help avoid the difficulty the tab-open gave this party, anyway.
Considering this newer design, with more lid options and a detachable cord. Glad the prior cord could wrap and stow on base, BUT I'll note my base is now cracked due to use. Hoping the redesign is a bit more durable.

I am not a person who leaves reviews very often, but I love this thing so much! I was going to write the company a letter telling them how great it is, then realized it was 2024 and snapped out of it and am leaving a review here instead. My aunt got this for me for Christmas 2022. I have used it almost daily during the week for work lunches, and it's still going strong. This little crock-pot was something I never knew I needed, but now can't imagine doing without. Sunday night I'll make a pot of soup, stew, or chili just for weekday lunches, and I've used it for leftovers too. It saves a lot of time and money, and I'm definitely eating healthier! I leave the base at work, and carry the insert back and forth in my lunch bag. The lid for the insert has a good seal on it - no spills during transport. I get to work in the morning, pop in the insert, put on the base lid, plug it in, and well before noon lunch is evenly piping hot and stays that way until I'm ready to eat. No standing in front of a microwave, doing the 30 second stir shuffle, and winding up still having some spots cold and some spots hot enough to melt the container, etc. I was surprised how easy it was to clean the metal insert - I figured food would stick to it and I'd have to scrub but that's not the case. I soak it for a bit with soapy hot water and everything comes off easy peasy. The metal insert has no BPA and allegedly the lid doesn't have any either, if that sort of thing is important to you. Either way, if you're on the fence about buying one of these, I say go for it.

I use with frozen soups, meatloaf's, and quiches made in Soupercubes. The combo makes for a higher quality lunch and it is ready by lunch when plugged in when I get to work. Love this heater!

Best Present in Years

Best Christmas present I've received in a while. I love that I can plug it in during my break and by the time lunch rolls around I have a hot lunch waiting for me and I don't have to wait in the line at the microwave anymore. The only thing I would change is, I wish I could buy extra Crocks to meal prep for the week. Absolutely love using it though.
