Garmin is definitely displaying full integrity in their design, engineering, and manufacturing process with this InReach Mini 2. I love it...I highly recommend it.

Setup was quick and easy. I love the simplicity of operation. There's nothing worse than fighting with technology when you are in the wild trying to escape from it. Highly recommended!!

As a satellite messenger for communication when away from cell service, it's great. It does everything it is advertised to do. It is not by any means fast, though; but that is not a flaw of the inReach Mini 2 itself, just a caveat of satellite technology. Messages that you send may take up to 5-7 minutes to send to the receiver (person you are talking to), as it takes time for an Iridium satellite's orbital alignment to allow for your message to send. The inReach Mini 2 does not receive when it is off either. If you turn off your device after sending your message, you will not see the response from your receiver until the inReach Mini 2 is powered back on.
I used this to keep in touch with family while backpacking on Santa Cruz Island, California. I had to leave the island a day early due to an incoming weather system, and I was able to communicate this information to my party that was awaiting my return on the mainland. Despite heavy usage over 4+ days, the device only lost about 15% of battery. I highly recommend this for anyone that adventures in areas that disallow cellular communications.

I've been very hurt before paragliding, so I wouldnt fly places without cell service. This enables me to fly remote mountains. Peace of mind that I can get help makes my trips more fun.

This device gives me a great peace of mind while working solo in a very rugged landscape. My only concern is my inability to send messages to people who are not signed up for the Garmin Messenger app. I have researched all the known issues to impede successful communication and continue to have difficulties. Is there a live Help/human customer assistance outlet to walk me through the process. And yes I have tested the device and all systems go, including successful messaging with folks added to the app. My understanding is it should not be required - e.g. for my older parent.
