I used my Garmin R10 in my backyard hitting net daily for 3 weeks. Very disappointed with the device. It provided very inaccurate distances for all my irons and woods. I meticulously set up the Garmin per Garmin videos/instructions, but yardage was consistently off by 20 to 30 yards. I even purchased the expensive Titleist RCT balls to hit, but no difference in results than with my regular golf balls.

Thank you for your review and experience with the Approach R10. We would like to discuss this further over email. If you would please email us at product.support@garmin.com.
I am still working out the kinks, shot distances appear to be 10-20 yards shorter than actual, however I am working on ensuring I have the proper set up of the device for better accuracy.
Other than the distance being off, shot shape is accurate I think spin is pretty reasonable.
Beginner golfers would benefit from this item as it provides realistic shot shapes and ball park distances.
I'm going to try it paired to the e6 app and see if that improves the data.
Bought it two weeks ago still learning how to work all the functions but the range function has been great and It’s really helping me dial in my yardages on all my clubs
Super fun experience, the ability to 'play' courses you know is pretty unique. Setup can be a little hairy but once you've got it dialed in it's super easy to make repeatable, and without question worth the money.
Owned the device for approximately two weeks, don’t have an actual indoor setup yet, so using a net and hitting mat at first. Had a good bit of trouble with it not picking up shots so researched and found examples of people trying different options but almost all had a grass mat in front of the hitting mat. I bought turf to use for now and placing the net 7’ in front, the simulator 7’ behind, it is now tracking 95% of the shots reliably. There are still a few misses but 3 out of 35+ isn’t too bad. Also recommend getting the stabilizing stand to ensure the device is level.
Decided to go with Awesome Golf right now, bought the lifetime membership and use the range stats often. I have a 9.5 GHIN right now, and found that it really helped me understand a number of things I was struggling to figure out. Playing today, I had a 13 shot improvement on the same course I butchered a couple days ago; maybe luck but I took the work from the simulator sessions to the course and loved the results, even had distance improvements. I plan to learn more about the stats and how they can improve my game further, and we’re already researching what it will take to build a full indoor setup with the screen and projector. We’ll consider the e6 app once we have that in place so we can play courses I may never get to play in real life.
have only owned about a week, but can get away from it, i loveing hitting the ball, then trying to guess how far i hit it.. so much fun.. there is so much info for such a small device as i really learn how to use it this will be so helpful..
Purchased this device a little more than a month ago. Very useful when I am on the range. Along with the app, I have data that can be used to look at my golf swing.
