Not overly impressed

Bought this HRM 600 with hopes of using my garmin 530 to stream my heart rate live to ensure I stayed in specific zones during training rides, but after more than 6 attempts with my garmin 530 and 10 attempts to use while on trainer streaming to my iPad separately, I have failed to see the data properly. (It so small and insignificant on garmin connect app when it does actually work and I have yet to see it on the data screen on my garmin 530 despite many attempts following garmin instructions) It hasn’t worked for my intended use and I’m disappointed.
If all you need is hindsight heart rate data about a workout you start on your phone and stop after then review it is great otherwise it’s not of any use.

After spending 2 hours today looking for my HRM I realized that this is a constant thing with HR monitors even in the best of times I still probably spend 5-10 minutes a week just looking for my HR monitor and this is time I could spend running so when I am running I kind of expect it to be accurate on treadmills so I can get good running stats and it would also be nice if this device synced easily to my phone and my watch was able to upload activities quickly via garmin connect. Instead I often find myself spending a few minutes making sure my HR monitor is connected to my watch prior to running and then spending more time after a run making sure my runs upload to strava and on top of that garmin wants me to pay extra money for a connect plus subscription? It’s laughable really, I switched to coros six months ago because I wanted better UI and ease of use but realized that coros has subpar maps so I got the HR monitor and powered up my instinct 2 wanting to get back into garmin but after a couple uses I’m already done. Returning this to REI and I guess just going back to running without a strap or watch like we used to back in the old days.

Finally rechargeable

Very happy to have a rechargeable HRM. The manual is terse. Says to refer to other devices on how to pair which makes it frustrating to have to dig out an owner’s manual from 2 years ago when these didn’t exist. Trial and error method is easier.
Wish they could just make it readable in one source.

Old man needs accurate HR monitor

Seems to be just what I needed. I can now trust the heart rate recorded for my workouts. I tend to run to achieve a given heart rate for my runs. The HRM 600 gives me the confidence that I am getting accurate readings.

New HRM 600-so far so good

My 3 year old HRM Pro Plus stopped working (likely due to my sweat and overuse) and they don't make them any longer. I saw that the HRM600 was the newest model. It's almost like they went back to the past as this one has a snap in module similar to what I had way back when with the HRM Dual (which still works, but didn't have all the newer features). In any event, I received it 3 weeks ago, and its easy to pair with my Forerunner watch. Pairing it with my rower wasn't as easy, but one quick phone call and we figured it out. Now its seamless getting a signal and I still haven't had to charge the module.
Overall, very pleased having a working chest strap for my rows, runs and rides.

I’ve had several versions of GARMIN’s heat rate monitor and this is by far the best most capable yet. Being able to wash the strap is perhaps my most favorite update aside from the additional running dynamics information.
