As advertised and in reasonable time. Plug and Play USB, although you might need a driver. Works on my CDs and DVDs. Wish it had some kind of manual with trouble-shooting tips. HP promises to help if needed.

At this point, I am not pleased or impressed. Why? The drive appears to be operating properly. What I am not happy with is the maximum volume/sound level. Over the years, every HP desktop I have owned over the years, always had the DVDRW built into the PC had so much volume, that I could barely have the sound system above half. Unfortunately, I can turn the volume up to maximum and the music can barely be heard. Oh Well!
