air flow indicator incorrect

Like many of the other reviewers, I am puzzled that the arrow indicating how to install filter, results in an installation with the metal supports on the air intake side, rather than being closest to the blower. Is this an engineering error and what is the rational for designing it this way.
I would recommend this to a friend!
