It has a few limits.

The ASUS k1 is a decent membrane keyboard. It feels like a cherry MX red, but its mushier and the feedback is alright. They keys are not individually lit, so you're more limited to customization. I also couldn't get it so sync with my ASUS ARMOURY CRATE (customization app) sometimes and it made me take a star off.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Review time. Is awesome. Works as it should. The dial for sound is great, can feel the clicks so can adjust small level if needed.
Keyboard took some time to get use to but is great now. Function keys f1 f2 are off center compared to old keyboard. But good. Lots of movement in the keys, in my opinion. Full rub color range with limit lighting animations, 4. Not sure if you can add more...
Overall, fast free shipping, for 50 bucks, thats bang for your buck.

This keyboard while looking flashy and feels nice and sturdy the rest is not all that great. Starting with the keys font is terrible, if i ever (rarely) have to look down for something uncommon the rgb coupled with the font make it kinda hard to actually see what you're looking for. As for the keys them selves for typing or gaming as they are membrane are weak and some times feels like im not getting the key press or even gets stiff to type sometimes even though its brand new. Other than that the RGB lighting position and options are great, as well with the volume control was a great choice. Finally if they ever remade this keyboard but mechanical it would definitely get 5 stars, but as for membrane left me lacking and longing for mechanical.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Backlighting is terrible, unreadable

Sadly the backlighting is very cheap, terrible quality. The backlighting is not bright enough, and it doesn't properly fill out each letter, so especially at your normal viewing angle you can't see anything clearly.
For me, it is a nice keyboard with terrible backlighting, so you'd be WAY better off buying the G213 Logitech product instead, which is the same price and is legible with better backlighting.
Just overall I LOVE the volume knob, but it is inferior in every way versus the Logitech one. Sad. Logitech's membrane also feels much better and is easier to type on.
So yeah, broken backlighting and back membranes. Stay away.

Its a good solid keyboard limited full rgb customization with armory crate lighting seems a little dim in my opinion but a good keyboard for the price

Good keyboard with lots of options by using the software to customize
your settings. Best thing is the back lighting which helps out a lot if you
are in a poorly lit room. Pressing on the keys is smooth and no errors so

Good keyboard

I bought this keyboard to go with my new 'super' computer. It works perfectly for my needs. I play FSX and soon FS2020 most of the time and it's nice to see the keys now in low light. The colour schemes goes nicely with my Asus motherboard which has the same pattern. The keys are not soft and need some good pressure to hit. This prevents me from accidently hitting keys like my old keyboard. What I like most is the volume control knob. I can crank up my speakers and then control the volume as needed from the keyboard. My only con with this is I wish it was cordless, but I don't have to replace batteries anymore so that is a pro.

I have been using this keyboard for about 4 months now, and it is amazingly comfortable to use. I program, and it is really nice to get something that feels at home in your hands. My only complaint was the armory crate (software to choose the colours and patterns) was rather difficult to use from my experience, and didn't seem to save whatever I was doing. I just leave it on the default settings now though, so it is all fine. The volume wheel is a nice addition, wish I could program it for other uses, but it is a 50 dollar keyboard after all so can't expect too much
