Great water - with some drawbacks

We've had the countertop filter for roughly 3 years now. We've had 0 issues with it running properly and it's super easy to use. I'll be honest, I don't check to see if all of the contaminants are truly removed, but I will assume that since we're diligent with replacing the filters that the water is good to go.
There are a few things that I would love to see from Aquatru in future models. First, I'm not sure the logic with using plastic throughout the unit. With a lot of folks trying to avoid plastics and stick with glass or stainless steel, the plastic has been a little bit of a turnoff. If there's a way for the main compartmenta to be glass that would certainly be ideal.
Probably the biggest issue that we've had to deal with is cleaning both the main reservoir and the section that houses the old water. Overtime we've seen that green algae grows between the handle, in between every groove, and most importantly where the clean water comes in and out of the main unit. Sure we're getting rid of all metals and chemicals, but not loving the fact that I'm also drinking green algae.
Other than that, again, the water is definitely a huge step up from bottled/tap water. I would recommend, with the caveat of the issues raised above.

I must say, after about 4 years of trying to distill at least 2 gallons of water everyday , and it rarely being enough for my daily use, I’m thrilled with my Aqua Tru that I can have an abundance of clean water in just 12 minutes!! As opposed to distilling water takes at least 4 hours for one jug!
PLUS, I used to only be able to use store bought distilled water to make my sourdough bread as any other water would kill the starter! I was estactic to try the water from my Aqua Tru and it worked in my sourdough just fine! I’m very pleased with my new machine!

almost perfect

We recently bought the classic model. My wife and I both have 96 ounce water containers that we keep in the refrigerator and I fill them every night. It is inconvenient to use the push button and when you take the lid off to pour it that way, since there is no spout, you have to be very careful not to spill it all over the counter. Beyond that, we like it so far.
