UC-PS18 works and looks great

This hood replaced a very low-end NuTone so it didn't have to do much to outperform our old hood. The NuTone sucked at sucking and sounded like a jet taking off when it was cranked all the way up. I guess all hoods make some noise and the PS18 is no exception. It would be great if it was a little quieter on Hi Speed but not at the expense of sucking, which it does really well. Installation was a snap although it's WAY heavier than the NuTone was. All-in-all, we like it a lot. Delivery was super fast, too.

After doing days of research to find the best range hood, I settled on the Hauslane PS18. Compared to other range hoods in a similar price range, this hood was the most powerful and quietest. After a few days of using it, I can confirm that all smells and gases are pulled straight out of the kitchen instead of wafting through the entire home. It has a timeless, elegant design that is easy to clean and use. The permanent easy-to-clean baffle filters means that I don't have to worry about the hassle of replacing filters.
Overall the range hood is excellent and I have no complaints about the product itself. The only downside to having such a powerful range hood is that in our area (IL) residential code requires make-up air for range hoods over 400 CFM. This is a bit of hassle and increases costs a bit, but a necessary pill to swallow since the heavy south-asian cooking in our household requires a powerful hood.

Good design and range of vent modes. Straight forward to install and good documentation and video support. A little loud on the highest flow mode, but moves a lot of air!

Replacing old overhead stove Microwave with new Hauslane vent fan

The new Hauslane kitchen range hood fan model UP-PS18-30 is beautiful/handsome crisp stainless STL lines, powerful dual fans with six setting levels, quite and great lighting. Installed it myself using three bottle jacks and plywood. Only negative I had was the two back mounting screws were impossible to access with stove in place. Had to remove stove after attaching the vent hood with front four screws to cabinet first. Then removed stove to gain access to back two mounting screws.
