I initially ordered the stainless steel, and I should have ordered the white. The company was incredibly helpful in making the exchange, return shipping, etc.
The product itself is outstanding in function and really dresses up the kitchen. The lighting it provides is amazing, and for the first time I can see what I am doing on the stove top. The exhaust part is great, the range of speeds is very useful. I can't say enough good things about it.

After 3 years in our new home, we wanted to replace the low end GE range hood which came with our Lennar tract house. It didn't vent well (only had ONE uncentered fan in it, despite having TWO grills) and it had become noisy. I did my research online, being a big believer in the cumulative knowledge of thousands of consumer reviewers on the internet. Hauslane came up over and over and over, with consistently high reviews, and a mid-range price. So I bought one. Shipping was very prompt, and it was packed ever so well. Due to styrofoam, bubble wrap, extra cardboard, etc. there was no possibility of any transit damage. The installation instructions were very clear, though it's really a very simple install: 4 screws held the old hood in place; 4 new screws hold the new hood in place. The Hauslane hood is solid and hefty, so installation is a two man job. I made a template for the screw locations. (Note to Hauslane; an included template would be a great idea!) Then I predrilled the mounting holes and installed the new large head screws about half way in. Then we just wiggled the new hood over the screws and tightened them up. Easy peasy!) It's perfect fit in the 36" space. Multiple levels of "suck" and 2 nice bright lights to illuminate the stovetop. The 3 vent grilles are easy to remove and wash. All in all, very happy with our purchase.

I installed the unit myself using two hand jack lift. The screws are in awkward positions so it took some time. Overall happy with the price and function. Led light is super bright. Suction is great at high speed, not terribly loud. Stainless steel easy to clean. Will see how good the baffles are in dishwasher.

Beautiful vent...challenging to install. The instructional video is good but not everyone has a cabinet lift to hold the vent up, including me. Even with the lift, it would be difficult to screw in the mounting screws because of where they're located within the vent. Like most reviews say, why isn't a template provided? The next model up claims to have a template but even with assistance, this sucker took a lot longer to install then planned. The exhaust options are great since I couldn't use the original boot vent. The vent flap would not open fully when the boot vent was on so I used the standard straight vent option. It's true...the lights are bright and there's no low/high options. The exhaust speeds are impressive, from quiet to lawn leaf blower. Wife LOVES it so all my efforts were worth it.

This hood is the most powerful hood i have used. As a chef working in commercial kitchens, i was looking for a powerful easy to clean hood. this hood is a mini commercial hood Turbine is so powerful on the low setting my gas flames literally dance upward. This can create an issue with smaller pans. sometimes boiling water is a challenge with the dancing flames. I would recommend installing 32 -34 inches above stove. mine is at 30 inches and we believe this is causing "flame dance".
