Hauslane is great quality

After having chatted with Hauslane's customer support in South San Francisco, I made the decision to purchase their best range hood and now that it's installed I'm thrilled with the product. Heavy-duty stainless steel body and stainless steel baffle filters that can easily be removed for cleaning in the dishwasher. Very pleased with my new range hood. The fan is quieter than the cheap hood that it replaced.

We installed the range hood a week ago. I'm really loving it. It replaces an inexpensive "contractor" model that just wasn't pulling the smoke and grease out of the kitchen. In spite of a number of turns in the venting and a very long distance to the outside of the house, this range hood is doing a great job. I like that it has five speeds and two light levels. I am not a big fan of the electronic buttons. There is a slight delay with the on/off switch, and the buttons for the light and fan do not work instantaneously. We installed the fan ourselves, and while it was a bit of a pain it was doable and the instructions were clear. I am definitely pleased with my purchase.

Best value for the money, AWESOME service

We are serious cooks and I have installed dozen or more hoods during the past 40+ years. Most of them semi-professional variety (Vent-a-hood and the like). Having a small bungalow in Florida and less serious cooking demands, spending huge amount of money did not appeal to me. This hood does everything the ones costing two or three times as much did. Workmanship is great, material sturdy, baffles are dishwasher safe and there are no expensive mesh filters to mess with. Installation is not for the novice, good thing is every possible combination for exhaust was included, the less than good is that hood is very heavy and you will require a pro or a jig I made using some lumber and a hydraulic car jack. Hood works like a charm, noise is comparable to vent-a-hood and service is responsive - assistance is phone call away, answered by a live, competent and pleasant person. What else could you ask for?

Powerful Hood at Decent Price

Has 6 fan speeds, auto turnoff and bright replaceable LED lights. It is easy to adapt between three installation options. Fairly quiet even at max fad speed. Steel is not the same quality as my range, but is not really noticeable unless you look really close.

Good value, annoying clock

The range hood is a good value but has a couple quirks. The touch screen is a little finicky but the biggest annoyance is the clock loses about 2 minutes a week. No clock would be better I wish there was a way to turn it off

Quality, excellent value, with a couple of shortcomings

Replaced OTR microwave, and couldn't be happier. Great air flow, reasonably quiet, and obvious quality construction, with a commercial grade filter/grease trap.Only 3 gripes, 1 major, 2 minor (in order):1-Really, really, REALLY need a mounting hole template, and preferably on heavy paper. This thing is heavy, and the mounting holes are difficult to access from below. Furthermore, the mounting plate on top is thin, so if the holes in the shelf or cabinet bottom need to be enlarged or elongated, there's a good chance the metal will bend in, releasing the relatively small head screws and washers. I almost dropped it during installation because of this. Ended up using fender washers (which needed to be trimmed to clear the motor mounts in the back.... yuck!)2-Turning on the fan or lights requires turning on the unit first. That's 1 extra unnecessary step, IMO.3-Light dimming, or at least 2 levels of brightness would have been a great feature.The unit has only been in use for couple of months, but I have confidence in the apparent durability. In spite of the above, I gave the product 5 stars because I consider the quality and value to be overriding.
