Very nice - quieter than old OTR microwave

I was replacing an OTR microwave, which had wholly inadequate vents that were ridiculously loud. Noise level was a primary concern for me; this hood is significantly quieter than the old unit, which is good, though on the two highest settings it is still fairly loud. I understand that good ventilation is going to create some noise, and this hood does deliver very good ventilation. The finish is nice, and matches my other brushed stainless appliances (everything is #4 brushed). It was packaged well with excellent protection.
I did a self-installation, and had to do some cabinet and duct modifications to get it securely mounted, and ensure the duct was air-sealed at the adapter joint - I cut out about 10" of the original rectangular duct, and cut a new piece about 11" long, then attached that to the hood adapter with it already aluminum-taped in place so I could lift the unit into place and have the duct join up in the cabinet where I could actually have room to tape the new joint as well. There was no way to tape the joint at the adapter on top of the hood once it is installed, so this was my solution.
I was able to lift and install the unit by myself with no help by carefully using the included measurements diagram to install the four mounting screws with washers attached, and then lifting the hood up so the washers went through the larger holes in the top steel, then pushed the hood back so the screw shafts were in the narrow part.
The only complaint I have is that there is no way to entirely disable the clock - there is no reason this needs a clock. I would also prefer the two buttons to change the fan speed were switched so down is on the left and up on the right.
I did replace the dim bulbs (very yellow-colored light) with new 5000k, high Color Rendering Index ones instead, and now have a nice, bright workspace.

It is so easy to keep clean!

I've had this unit for over a year now and am very happy with it. We had an over the range microwave before. This is so much better at clearing steam and smoke and the extra light is great.

Nice exhaust hood

I purchased the Hauslane UH-PS18 hood in July 2021, and I am very happy with not only its looks but also its performance in extracting smoke and heat while cooking.
Recently, when the fan speed control stopped working properly, I contacted Hauslane, and despite it being out of warranty, they agreed to replace the part at no charge.
The only negative I've found (when the fan control speed is working correctly) is that there is no 'default' setting, so the fan always starts at full speed, and I have to manually turn it down to low. A minor inconvenience for an otherwise great product.

What a beast!

We installed this unit last night. Installation was a beast. Directions could have been better.
But the unit itself is pretty awesome. I was nervous after all of the complaints about noise. But when you want to move that kind of air, you have to expect some noise.. I would not call this fan ridiculously noisy.

Great features and looks great too!

We replaced the microwave mounted above our stove with this range hood for the higher CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) air flow to help eliminate cooking smells. The microwave didn't have a very strong fan so this range hood provides 850 CFM. It is great that the fan turns on with the last setting we used. We also really love that we can press the clock and it will start a countdown before it turns off so we can move on to plating our food and eating and not have to go back to turn the range hood off.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased my HAUSLANE PS 18-36 hood fan a few years ago. I am extremely happy with it and would recommend it to anyone
It is a very good looking unit and very easy to operate.
Its extracting/ventilating ability is exceptional and there are never any odors wafting through the house when I’m cooking.
I appreciate the fact that you can put the grates in the dishwasher for cleaning.
All of its functions are very user-friendly and the LED lights provide really good visibility to the countertop.

It’s everything I expected! Save for lifting it into place, I was able to do the work myself. I would not recommend that a novice for the project. The only disappointment was that the instructions called for a one inch hole for the plug. Nope, too small. I hope the design team edits that, because it really sucks to get there and it does not pass through. A 1 1/2 in. hole is necessary. Otherwise it’s amazing! Cooking game changer!
