After having the fan up for a few weeks, I think it pulls good enough to exhaust all the smells, and is pretty quiet. In a previous house, we had a Zephyr, which is at a much higher price point. The Zephyr probably pulled a little more strongly but was noisier than Hauslane unit. Can't speak to its longevity yet. I'm happyThe installation instructions were somewhat lacking, and I agree with some previous reviewers that a paper template would be very helpful. My recommendation is don't try to use the provided screws, rather purchase bolts, nuts, and washers, and pre-drill the holes for the bolts. I taped the bolts in place facing up in the unit and lifted them up through the pre-drilled holes. Even so, access to the bolts in the back was very difficult to achieve when tightening. I don't know how anyone could use the screws provided back there. I'm not a professional installer; they might have a much easier time.
My girlfriend and I are giving our kitchen a updated look. After searching and researching brand after brand model after model we came across a few ranges that seemed promising. Cosmo, BV Range, Xtreme Air just to name a few. Hauslane stood out above the rest. Ratings over the interwebs were either #1 rated or top three where the others fell short. One thing we like about Hauslane was the style and overall weight of the range. Other brands were 50 to 60 pounds, needed studs and so on and so on. If you don't have studs centered or any at all behind your stove good luck with those weights. You'll find yourself having to cut drywall and build support. Anyways, Hauslane offers the same performance, modern look, stylish lighting etc. as the other heavier guys. You do need two people working together to install because of the awkward positions you have to be in or just purchase a cabinet jack and you'll be golden. Their stainless steel is beautiful. No burn marks anywhere from the welds and the fans are awesome. Let me put this out there, all hood ranges with a rating of 600 or higher CFMs are louder than normal. Due to the fans have to operate much faster. The Hauslane on high is loud but not where you can't hold a conversation but it sure dose do it's job. I had bacon on the front burners, eggs on the back, pancakes were going in the middle and all of the fumes and smoke was getting pulled out with no issue by the Hauslane. And the range hood was on the middle setting (which is 3 cause there is six fan levels). I know I rambled a bit but if you're looking for a great priced, don't want a big bulky heavy unit above your stove and want the big boy performance go with the Hauslane. You'll be amazed, we were.
I like this range hood. It is well worth the money we spent on it without being too expensive. My husband installed the range hood himself and said it was simpler to install than he thought.I would recommend this product
I love it.Works awesome. Noise level is great considering how much air it moves and it moves a lot.It got 4 stars because it is not 100% dishwasher safe. While the filters are stainless and dishwasher safe, the handles on them are anodized aluminum and not dishwasher friendly. The finish got damaged. See pic. Doesn't bother me but I was bummed.
It was easy to install, looks great, noisy on the highest speed but has great suction . First one came in damage had to wait for the second one, overall satisfied And would order again
