Beautiful looking appliance. High quality build and excellent performance. One complaint concerning installation - it is impossible to screw the two back screws in to the cabinet bottom. The holes are hard to reach and in trying to locate the two screw holes, I cut my hand several times trying to reach up in to the hood to locate them. Requires an extra long screwdriver which most households do not have.

Fantastic quality exhaust hood!

Bought this exhaust hood through the Home Depot site. Read just about all the reviews, good and bad. This hood is fantastic! It is simplistic, sleek, modern, crafted beautifully, has 6 powerful yet quiet speeds. We have a very expensive hood in another kitchen and this Haulslane unit rivals that unit with its’ powerful 500 cfm ( possibly more) and does a great job of exhausting odors with the same decibels as our other kitchen’s exhaust. We originally had an OTR microwave with 300 cfm that was horrible. It was never hooked up correctly. And, it was vented out the back and air came out of the underside of the unit. That is because the installer never sealed the vent in the back. We had the Hauslane 30” exhaust unit installed by a professional contractor. That is the best way to insure that the vent on the unit is properly connected and sealed to an external duct. My contractor did a fantastic job! He had to change how the unit was venting . The old OTR microwave vented out the back . We had him use the 6” top duct and cut through drywall and cabinet to connect to the outside venting system. I absolutely love this hood! I normally don’t write reviews, but I was so impressed with the quality of this hood I wanted other consumers know what I thought about this exhaust hood.

My brother-in-law found this hood for his kitchen and when I saw it perform, I was sold. Got mine and installed yesterday and love it. Relatively quiet for such a powerful blower and love the baffle filters and trap for easy cleaning.
Fit and finish is outstanding and pretty easy to install. But I suggest to Hauslane engineers to consider moving the power supply about 3-4" to the left?

The clock on this hood is not accurate at all, and that is so annoying. Took off 1 star because of it. (My wife always complains about it and makes fun of me for buying this thing, and she said I should give 3 stars!) How can you screw up a clock? Otherwise it's fine I guess. Honestly might have bought something else if I knew something as simple as a clock would be so crappy on this thing.

I couldn't install this product in my home unfortunately because my stove is up against an interior wall and the studs don't run in the right direction to allow easy access to the outside. And if the pipes were to run a different direction (eg south) I'd have to move a gas tank and other very complicated stuff.
I however am still giving this five stars because the return process was very simple and easy for something that is huge and heavy. I expected it to be a little more difficult but they were great about the return process.
