I just bought it. So far it's going well. The overall quality of the product is very good. He seem strong, and made to last long. The panel's support isn't quite appropriate for the size of the panel. I took another support that works better for the install. The price is really good considering that the built-in battery is more powerful than many other solar panel with built-in battery on the market.
Now... The LED indicator on the panel... Currently on the Spypoint panel, green means it's charging, and red means it's fully charged... It would have been much easier to have: Yellow or red when charging, and green when the battery is fully charged. Most solar systems use yellow when charging and green when fully charged. And red when it's dead... Why do the opposite?

Great panel and works as it should so far. I have had it out for several months and it is working great. Only thing that would be better is that they do not include a swivel bracket for the end of the metal tree mount and with out it the metal bracket that is included will not work. I purchased a 1/4 20 swivel bracket so I could use the screw in bracket instead of the included strap. This allows the panel to be tilted better to catch the sun than the strap

Hello Allenfarr1000, the SPLB-22 Solar Panel assures long-lasting power to your camera. The solar panel constantly charges the integrated 15,000mAh battery so your camera can run for months, without you needing to visit to service the batteries. Thank you for your rating. -KM

Works Great

I have tried the "Built in Solar" models and sorry but they all seemed to have issues whether it was getting wet inside the camera or just not holding a charge. The SPLB-22 in my opinion is a simple and tested (over a year now) solution. As of today I have had Zero issues with the four I have bought, these have already paid for themselves with what I have saved in buying batteries and not having to take the time to change batteries. If you want a "Set it and Forget it" solution these are worth the money. Charge the panel completely before taking it to the woods, make sure to have adequate expose to the sun, connect to camera and you are good to go!

Worked for 7 months

We have had the Spypoint Flex G-36 out since end of November and on July 4th it quit communicating. I was wrong in assuming that having a solar panel attached would keep batteries going. That being said, it has worked great for over 7 months. We now just have to make the 4 hour trip to change out internal batteries and recharge the solar panel. That being said, we have on average at least one picture sent to app every 2 hours when communicating and a couple with every motion. On a busy day we could get upwards of 24+ pictures, so I guess it has worked great for us for over 7 months. Very happy with product.

I have a Spypoint Flex that, although a decent camera, eats batteries like a fat kid given a plate of cookies. I found that not everyone uses the same size plug for solar panels and until this panel came out, I was using a satellite battery. Again, even it didn't last very long in colder weather .
I have had this one in use for about a year without any issues. The camera is a different story. Because of the camera issues, I pulled the camera which left me with a spare solar panel.
I have a couple of Moultrie feeders with their branded solar panel on them alone (no internal battery connected) and they stay running until one of the solar panels quit. Since I had the Spypoint solar panel not running anything else, I put it on the feeder (Same size plug) and have been running it since.
I have enough confidence in this solar panel to order another one to have to get the Spypoint camera up and running again. It will run fine with the solar panel plugged in but not on just the internal batteries. Must be a short or bad battery pack connection.
Either way, the solar panel is a must if you run a Spypoint camera unless you like to keep replacing batteries or pulling rechargables. My cameras are remote (some 25 miles away) and run all year long, so I don't want to have to tend to dealing with batteries.

Hello spd522, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and bring this to our attention; it means a lot to us. Battery life is greatly dependent on photos.taken and other environmental conditions, and will vary greatly based on different factors and settings selected by the user. The first factor to take into consideration is cellular coverage. When the signal is tough to find, it is hard on batteries; the easier it is, the less strain on battery life. We understand that every customer's needs are unique, and we are committed to providing personalized solutions.Let's have a look at your settings and the conditions of your unit and find the best way to optimize your camera. Need to figure out the cables and connections!

So first of all I loved the solar panel until they changed the 12V output connection on the solar panel. The supplied cable that goes from the solar panel to the camera just doesn’t stand up to rodents chewing through them. I would buy 3rd party armored cables and I had cameras out for years without messing with them. The old 12V output connection on the solar panel was a 4.0x1.7mm that was easy to find. Then they changed the 12V output connection to a 1.5mm that is impossible to find and Spypoint won’t even sell them. Even if they did sell them they need to supply an armored cable that will last. I will be switching to a different solar panel if they don’t figure this out. Which is sad because I already had 6 of these solar panels.

Hello there! The SPYPOINT Lithium Battery Solar Panel (10W) or SPLB-22 output cable size haven’t changed. The output cable for the SPLB-22 is 3.5mm with a 1.5mm pin, and the other end of the cable is a standard 5.5mm. For any further assistance, please call us 1-888-779-7646. We'll be glad to help!
