Bought this a month ago since our older heater "died". Like the look of it but it doesn't seem to generate the same amount of heat as our older heater. But love the look of it!!
This patio heater made a really elegant addition to our deck. It's very tall, which is exactly what we were looking for. Start up is simple, and the wheels make repositioning the large unit easy. The review for form and function is 5 stars. My overall review is 4 stars since assembly with the instructions provided was time consuming and challenging.
We purchased 2 of these heaters and love the way they look. The main reason for the 3 star rating is the lack of assembly instructions and issues with stripped threads on the screws supplied. The assembly instructions left a lot to be desired. The first one we put together had stripped threads on the screws and we decided to go to the local hardware store to purchase new screws instead of sending the heater back. The heat given off is just okay. Visually it is quite attractive however the assembly instructions need to be re-written by someone who actually has put it together. For example, the 3 studs should be fastened to the heat emitter prior to installing it. The tank and regulator could be installed before the 2 sides and back are put on. All the required screws should come in a separate pouch instead of being on the parts requiring them to be removed during assembly.
Very nice construction and logical assembly steps. Directions are best followed by intense attention to the details for the drawings, rather than the very concise wording that accompanies them. All screws go back into the threads they come in, so there is no big bag of them, which I liked. I took my time and probably spent 2 hours on the assembly, and am very happy with the result. It looks and works great.
Somehow we ended up with assembly instructions that were different from what we were later emailed a link to. First of all, nowhere in the instructions did it say we had to align the bottom and middle plates so that we could install the door panel (the very last step). We ended up having to support the completely assembled heater at an angle so that we could remove the bottom plate, turn it 45 deg, then reinstall it. Then we realized that nowhere in the instructions (seeing the trend?) did it tell us how to turn the heater on. After a call into the company, we were emailed a link to instructions that had an entire page detailing how to turn it on. Our instructions did not contain that page.
Lots of headaches later, we were able to get the heater up & running just in time for out of town guests visiting on a record breaking cold night during the pandemic. Luckily we were able to use the heater & spent an enjoyable evening outside.
