While it's 90 degrees out right now buying a patio heater may not make sense. But with the pandemic, we figured we'd still be distancing by the holidays. Bought this unit for the outdoor Thanksgiving dinner we're expecting to host. Assembly was easy and straight forward. Step by step instructions were good and it fired right up. In the coming weeks I'm sure we'll get very cool evening and will test to see if it provides the warmth we're looking for.

We purchased this heater approximately two months ago. We have been able to enjoy our patio area on those chilly nights, and we will be able to extend our patio season into late fall.

Takes the chill off outside

This tabletop patio heater definitely takes the chill off our Northern California winter as we sit around our table. It's not as powerful as a full-size heater (which we knew when we purchased it), but we didn't have room for anything bigger, and this indeed does the job. As expected, it heats mainly our faces and arms, but that is enough to make sitting outside more comfortable. The heater lights easily and seems sturdy and well made.
A 1-pound propane canister lasts about 3 hours at the hottest setting -- maybe even a bit longer. The heater stays lighted until the canister is essentially empty. We then puncture the canister with a nail (a tiny bit of gas comes out) and put it in our recycling bin.
The assembly process could have been a bit easier. For instance, the box contained 2 sets of 4 screws that were almost identical, except that one set was shinier and a slightly different size than the other. These could have been packaged into separate plastic bags and labeled. Also, the process for testing the connections on the finished lamp was confusing because the instructions told how to perform the test for a large fuel tank with a hose, not for our model, which has just a small canister (though a large tank could be attached, using an adapter, apparently). Once we figured these things out, though, all went well.

Wanted this for a couple of months but out of stock due to demand. Got it yesterday - assembled it myself (78 yrs. old, but handy) - great instructions. Thoroughly enjoying it on my small covered patio (also have firepit and fire table in extended yard area). Am actually thinking of getting a 2nd Fire Sense Table Top Heater.

Good build-quality but heat-output is lacking

The ratio of the radiant heat generated by this heater, to its overall height isn't adequate. The heat output is so marginal - that any breeze will force you to sit down-wind in order to stay warm. In a perfectly calm environment, the heat barely reaches the table top. I even tried connecting this to a 20lb tank to see if there would be any benefit (there wasn't). It's possible that the regulator is defective or that it is undersized by design due to overzealous safety concerns.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. As our smallest gas heating option, this heater does have a significantly smaller heating capacity than full-sized models. We find that it performs best in partially-protected areas like covered patios, screened porches, and similar, ideally with a windbreak such as a wall, fence, or hedge.
