Great for the gym

Nice small compact book that’s good in any environment. I use it to log my workouts in the gym and it works great for scribbling down sets.

Can't erase mistakes
on May 28, 2021

I've tried three or four different erasers and nothing works. Terrible smudging from minor, lightly drawn lines. I'm sure these are great for some applications, I can't recommend this product for sketching...especially if you make a lot of mistakes like I do. Honestly, this sketch book is headed for a drawer, never to see the light of day again, or straight into the bin. Very disappointed...

Tough Book

This book has withstood the abuse of being used in the field for military operations and accidentally being washed when left in uniform pocket. Great product overall.

Time will tell

Time will tell since calving season just started--appears very durable. It would be nice if there was a sleeve on the book to hold a pen or pencil. Whatever you write on the pages is permanent. Even pencil does not erase but it will be nice to know nothing will smear and be hard to read at the end of the season.

We've used these for years in the field, fits in back pocket, plenty of room to write notes on bird behavior.

Since you been around

I fell in love with your products while I was in the army stationed at Fort Hood, Tx. I used and I still use to this day the no 980t tactical. The grids provided are great for sketches, because it makes it easier to take a picture to send back to my home office and not some ugly chicken scratch. All the other steps and actions that you have added in the book, aids those to be a better a leader. Even though it is tactical it still carries over to every day life.

Survived a dive in the sea!
on April 2, 2020

I went on a 7 day sailing trip in the Florida Keys. On the 7th day (after journaling the entire time) I had to get out of the boat to help get unstuck. I did not realize that my notebook was still in my pocket. After being in the water for almost 30 minutes I got back in the boat to realize that the notebook was in my pocket. I got nervous thinking the ink would have at least run. The pages were just fine and could barely notice anything wrong other than it being wet. I let the book dry a little before sticking it back in my pocket and continued to write on it later that day. The only difference was that the pages expanded a millimeter or so in each direction. I didn’t even notice a difference in performance. If it weren’t a rite in the rain notebook, it would not have survived and all of my thoughts would have been lost with the sea. I was amazed to see how well it held up even in the salt water. I will have a rite in the rain notebook for any of my future adventures on the seas or on land.

A Redress of a Review

I posted my original in the wrong spot, and it belongs here instead. I don't hand out 5/5s because I've always felt like it MIGHT be a company trick or something else, but I would give RITR 4.999999/5. My review is: I still have every one of my RITRs from my days in the Army, including the one I now use as a PMC for the Air Force and Navy. This one I'm using now sat at the bottom of my assault pack for eight years in various levels of jacked up, and it's still awesome. A word to anyone considering one of these books, if you like pens- you need to use what Rite in the Rain specifies, or you'll likely run into bleeding/stitching of the ink. However, pencils, whether mechanical or traditional, -heck, even colored!- work excellent on these books. RITR has earned my patronage, very likely for life.
