Super cool lights!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so excited to display these lights on a small Christmas tree on my front porch. The technology incorporated is amazing. Using an app, you can display preset designs and even create your own show. My kids are certain to have a good time selecting different display themes each night. The package arrived neatly packed with ties around the bundles in order to easily unfold without tangles. I will likely be adding additional stings.
Looking forward to a very festive holiday season with these lights.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy that these LED lights can be controlled with my phone and with the help of app! It’s so exciting. So amazing that I can change the settings. I love seeing different colored lights and this looks so pretty. It’s 5m of lights and I use it in my living room to make the entry table look bright and colorful. Can be customized and control the lights remotely through the app. I love editing the colors to see different effects and I am planning to use these lights on my Christmas tree . The twinkly app works great. I am a big fan of these lovely lights now!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are the best string lights ever! The app is very user friendly, and there are color combinations available for every holiday and season. I used my strand to make a cute christmas tree wooden sign. Definitely recommend these!!

The Good - The lights are bright, very colorful and controllable. Everything you want in an LED. These are intended for Christmas as I've been wanting lights that I can control the functions. These have the potential to fulfill that desire.
The Bad - Light control is sketchy and some missing features. There are several preset effects which can be edited. The problem is only parts of some can be edited. Some allow editing of speed, brightness and color while others only allow features not including color. Some can be edited and saved, while others can't be saved and if you do, they will overwrite your playlist. For Christmas, some basic features are missing i.e. (twinkle, fade, slow fade, flashing, etc.). Trying to create these effects is cumbersome.
The Ugly - Simply put, the app, software and control is terrible. The app crashes constantly. Errors galore. Twinkly support is active in trying to resolve these issues.
As stated above, only some of the preset effects can be edited for color. Some allow you to pick color combinations but not make your own color. Some allow you to save a copy while others don't...problem is you don't know which can be edited and which ones can't.
There is a favorites area where you can click on a heart to "save" the effect o your favorites. Unfortunately you can add items to your playlist from favorites, you still have to go to the big list of effects and find the ones you want in your playlist.
The playlist is horrible. The playlist starts out at 100% and as you add effects it goes down from there. Unfortunately you can't save much. I started off with 5 effects, got an error, deleted them and all of a sudden I could only save 2 effects. I've factory reset the lights and now I can only save 1 effect basically making the playlist pointless.
Errors - well the errors are endless. Unfortunately the errors also tend to delete your playlists and saved effects making it a chore any time you want to use the lights as you have to re-create your effects.
The idea of these are fantastic, the execution is poor. For the cost, these should work seamlessly as of right now they sometimes work and sometimes they don’t. Hoping for a fix in the near future. The basic features are great and colors are excellent. Even with the issues these are an upgrade for our Christmas tree.

Cute lights, a bit flimsy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like these little lights and they serve the purpose I bought them for which was to decorate the grooming room for my dogs. The fact that you can control them from your phone is also convenient. The downside is that they are a little flimsy very light weight so may not last long. But however long they last I will enjoy them and probably buy more for the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just put these lights up and was very impressed! I'm kind of old school so Christmas lights with an App is a bit of a stretch for me. Couldn't be easier to use however and it's so nice changing things up once in a while. Highly recommended

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These lights are on a whole new level! They are beautiful, bright, and vibrant. I love that I can control them but a simple app on my phone. It is so convenient to be able to just cut them off with my phone. I love these and will be getting more!

Nice lights but not my favorite

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hung these around my front door for the holidays. The single strand is very short, so you really can't do a whole lot with just one, but that's expected since it's only 40 lights.
I could not get the app to locate the lights, so I ended up deleting it and now I just manually turn them on.
I think my biggest dislike with these is that the colors don't really do anything for me. There's a rainbow scheme, blue and red, white - but not quite the color that matches other holiday lights. Nothing really goes with my holiday set up. They are okay but I probably wouldn't buy more.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
