I received my Onyx 8 about 3 weeks ago. It is one of the best Bluetooth Speakers I've heard. I liked it so, much I wanted to purchase another one, but they were sold out.

Short Battery Life

The battery life is very short, claims 8 hours.. I get maybe 2-3 hours. Sounds great plugged in, but for it to be portable, it has a much shorter battery life than the "8 hours" advertised.

Thanks for your feedback. The published up-to-playtime is the maximum battery time you will get when listening at background levels. As you turn up the volume, the playtime will be reduced, much like a phone battery when you brighten the screen. The same goes for source material. Music with more bass will also reduce playtime. It is possible that the battery is working correctly, but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Please try to charge the battery to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boosted, and at a very low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to-playtime, the battery is working fine. However, if you get less than 90% of the published spec, this likely means that the battery is losing its capacity. Please contact us for further assistance.

I bought a pair of HK Onyx Studio 8 during the black Friday sale. I'm on HM email list, and the deep discount and excellent customer reviews caught my attention.
My initial plan was to use this Bluetooth speaker with my work PC set up, but I decided to pair the two speakers in stereo and use it as another audio option in my bedroom with my 75" LG TV.
The sturdy built-in metal handle allowed me to mount the speakers on my bed posts, giving excellent surround sound experience that's additionally enhanced through deep bass reproduction felt through the bed.
I would recommend this to a friend!
