Ease of Use for Vlogging is Key!

My wife has a YouTube channel and the main problem for her is that she currently shoots videos on her smart phone for ease of use, however, her phone storage is always full and that is a hindrance when trying to record videos. Although, I could have purchased her a Mirrorless camera to record videos on, I knew she only needed the video capabilities and worrying about different length lenses would become expensive and confusing. Ease of use is the most important part for her. Panasonic seems to be the only company producing new camcorders in 2025, at least those catered to regular consumers, but I was hesitant until I saw a few Youtube reviews on it. It seems like everybody hates on camcorders now because we all have smart phones that can do the job, however, a camcorder has SD storage that can save infinite videos without worrying about storage space, unlike a cell phone which fills up quickly. I hear that the Lumix app is a bit outdated and I hope that does not let her down. It would be great if it allows her to transfer her videos directly from her camcorder to her phone via wifi. Otherwise, I am super happy that Panasonic is still producing camcorders, despite the market being so small for them. I think if the prices went down a few hundred dollars, and were marketed as livestream cameras with ultra large batteries (and potential integration to direct livestreaming platforms) and easy to use vlogging cameras, they would do much better. The problem is the cost of these camcorders is around the price of a new smart phone and many will just opt for that. However, I still think having a designated recording device that doesn't steal storage space on a personal phone is great. In fact, with point-and-shoot cameras all-but fading away, I think camcorders might find a resurgence if a company like Panasonic can promote their uses more. I really hope my wife can grow her Youtube channel with this camcorder and that is serves her well for many years.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Terrible Ui, way too difficult to make simple changes like resolution and the screen is too cluttered. It might be because I’m used to Sony handycams UI but this camcorder wasn’t for me
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
