[Employee of asus] Just bought my ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (Ryzen 7 version) today and honestly I’m very impressed so far.
My First impression is that the build feels really solid and premium. You can tell it’s built tough, not the cheap plastic type. The performance is super smooth. I tested some games and normal multitasking (Chrome, editing, downloads running together) and it handled everything without lag.
The screen looks sharp and the high refresh rate makes gaming feel very smooth. Keyboard also feels nice to type on and good for both gaming and work. Fans can get a bit loud when gaming heavily, but that’s expected for a gaming laptop and cooling seems to be doing its job well.
Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. For the price, getting Ryzen 7 performance in a TUF chassis is definitely worth it. Highly recommended for gamers, students, or anyone who wants strong performance without spending crazy money.
I bought the ASUS TUF A16 (Ryzen 7 + RTX 4050) expecting a major upgrade over my previous i5-11400H + RTX 3050 Ti laptop. On paper, it’s clearly more powerful, but in real-world gaming the experience has been inconsistent.
In Valorant, FPS is often the same — and sometimes even worse — than my older laptop. GPU usage stays around 40% even in maximum performance mode. The laptop ships with 1x16GB single-channel RAM, which likely limits CPU performance in competitive titles.
The biggest issue is stability. I experience random system freezes where the screen locks up, Caps Lock becomes unresponsive, and I’m forced to hard restart. In games, there are noticeable micro-stutters even when FPS looks high, which makes competitive gameplay feel less smooth than it should.
There also seem to be driver and software optimization issues. Performance feels inconsistent, and the system does not fully utilize the hardware, especially in esports titles.
Overall, the hardware is strong, but stability, micro-stutters, and optimization problems prevent it from delivering the experience expected at this level.
im writing this to get a 90 days warranty extension as this laptop really needs it

Dear Retro Code,
Thank you for your feedback.
We do understand your disappointment with the laptop and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing stability or performance issues. To resolve this, check if Windows, drivers, BIOS and games are up to date. Additionally, check if you are running the most current Armoury Crate utility software. The most current version is available for download at: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/. While accessing cloud games or web applications, ensure the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will affect system stability and performance. Keeping the unit always updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "MyASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the device, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/.
If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be happy to help. Or you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent from the link: https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/1135/.
I use my A16 for CAD designing and 3D printing software, and occasionally playing games like GTA V, BeamNG Drive, etc. all which this laptop handles very well
