Decent Widescreen HD Webcam with One Glaring Flaw

Easy to set up. Very good HD video quality and decent audio. Nice to have a built-in camera cover.
Be aware that this is a widescreen lens. The video is meant for several people sitting side-by-side. It's not so good for a single person in front of a monitor; you'll show plenty of space on either side of you.
Easy to mount on a monitor. However, the advertised feature of being able to screw the webcam onto a tripod doesn't work. The threaded hole in the bottom of the webcam is simply too large and every one of my tripods' screws failed to grab onto the threads.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Okay camera, originally misleading description

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The camera picture looks good, although it seems like it handled dark areas well sometimes but not others. The description, however, was incredibly misleading when it originally stated 4X zoom. It looks like this statement has since been removed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While this webcam works, it seems to have some issue with refresh rate. No matter what I do, the video always has a greyish "bar" that scrolls upward through the picture & repeats. I've tried this on 4 different computers - both in Windows 10 and Linux - with the same results. It'll do in a pinch, but I was disappointed that it constantly looked like a bad VCR rather than the supposedly HD image it was billed as having.
On a positive note, it does plug & play easily under both Windows 10 & Linux. The design is nice, and aside from the poor video seems to be well-built?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
