This is a nice performance upgrade from my 3 year old budget chromebook: Twice the memory, twice the storage, about 3x faster processor, higher resolution screen, and touch screen. I'm able to make more use of the Linux support on this machine due to the upgraded specs.
My only real complaint is the battery life. I'm getting about 7 hours doing mostly web tasks, versus the advertised 10. I need to turn down the screen brightness more and maybe use the battery saver mode more often -- things I haven't had to worry about on my older unit. This Acer CX3402 does also get pretty warm on my lap- which is not something I experienced with the old unit. So I'm seeing a couple of reasons to keep my old unit also (which still gets 10 hours on a charge!).

The ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34 is a solid choice for those looking for a reliable, budget-friendly Chromebook. Love the backlight on the keyboard. The touchscreen is great!

My 4th Asus Chromebook, purchased for the Chromebook Plus feature. Zippy fast, just the right keyboard resistance, track pad provides a smooth experience. I like the screen on this one, especially the thin bezel. Took advantage of a retail store discount and got this at a great price for the product.

This is my first purchase of an Asus product, and I'm really pleased with the features it offers at this price point. It has a crisp display, a nice feel to the backlit keyboard, and all the ports I could ever need.

I love how quick and compact it is. Also, the lighted keyboard is really great. I do not like how hot the bottom gets, you cannot place it on your lap, it's too hot.
