Disappointment.

First time use of this snowblower. About 4 inches of snow. Not power but not particularly wet either. Blower could not handle it. Maybe this blower can handle 13 inches of powder as advertised. Remains to be seen. Init could not handle 4 inches of what I consider normal snow.

It can clear heavier snow fall but may require additional steps such as clearing the chute and adjusting the chute to accommodate the snow. It may also require more than one passing. Lastly, it will use up more battery runtime.

Defective Battery

Bought the snow blower and 2 batteries in the Fall of 2022. Didn't have to use it that Winter. Used it yesterday and one of the 2 batteries I bought is "defective". Snow blower is great, but not if it can't be powered. I need 2 batteries to cover the area.
Pros: Easy to Use, Environmentally Safe, Effective
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The overall battery life is dependent on many factors such as where they have been stored, charged, and handled. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. It is recommended to store the battery with a full charge, and if it is being stored for a period where no use is expected, to check on the charge every couple of months. If you notice the charge has dropped, we advise charging the battery back up to full before returning it to its safe storage place. Following these steps will ensure you receive the most of the battery life.

Terrible design

I bought this a year ago. The design is terrible. If you try to move anything icy with it the scraper bar will break. Eventually the plastic behind the beater will wear through and then the snowblower is history. I have a lawn trimmer and this snowblower from Greenworks. They know how to do electric but have know clue how to build tools. Both pieces I own are junk.
Pros: Convenient, Quiet
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

About to call for a second replacement - BEWARE!!

First one died "throwing" in 6" of fresh snow after 3 storms. That year, most of the snow that was dropped the same amount of snow. Greenworks replaced it in the following Spring with the same SNB401 model. Winter decided to finally come around and the replacement failed on me during it's second outing after a storm with another ~6" of snow (again). BE FOREWARNED!!! There are many reports of the motherboard failing to power the motor, yet the lights still turn on. I have other Greenworks tools that I use during the Spring and Summer that all work wonderfully and as expected. Yet, the SNB401 20" Snowblower seems like a giant manufacturing defect.
BEWARE!

shuts down first time trying to use it

bought this last season got no snow went to use it today and shuts off after 2-5 seconds - This is my second one. My first one lasted many years was very happy so bought a new one now not sure

[1] Turn of the unit and remove the battery to confirm that the battery is fully charged, then reinstall the fully charged battery to see if this problem resolves. For snow throwers if the battery is too cold it may not be functionable. Allow the battery to get to room temperature prior to use. For our other tools allow the battery to cool down prior to use if it’s too warm. To avoid battery temperature issues, batteries should be stored indoors in a dry and cool location. Information on battery storage and temperature will in inside your owner’s manual.
[2] Check the condition of the Snow Blower and see if possibly something might be lodged in the Snow Blower like a rock or a pebble that might be preventing it from turning.

Works very well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first season I have used this. First, it removes snow very well and has good features. I do wish you could completely turn off the headlights for day use but as they are LEDs they probably don't consume much power. Changing light settings is also cumbersome as it is a single button that cycles through all settings instead of just selecting the setting you want directly.
While operating you can release the auger lever while the drive lever is engaged and both will continue. If you release the drive lever while holding the auger lever the auger remains in motion and the drive stops. In order to continue driving but stop the auger you must stop everything first, then restart the machine to be able to drive. This is cumbersome. Starting the machine is not difficult but it is a 2-step process (press the on button, then engage the drive or auger within a few seconds) It would be more convenient to have a on/off switch you can keep on and just depress one of the levers (drive or auger) without having to toggle press an on/off button every time you want to restart.
The "zero point turn function" is done with hand levers similar to break levers. They work fine on bare pavement but if you are in snow they act more as a clutch so you can manually pivot the machine as they don't provide much power to the tires. I'm guessing this is so the machine doesn't spin away from you. Bottom line, when you in deep snow it's not very helpful. However, when you release the drive lever the tires to free spin so maneuvering the machine is fairly easy.
The speed levers for drive and auger are separate. They moved a bit too easily and are easily bumped when operating. They also are slow to respond to changes and although you can feel 4 or 5 detents there seem to be about 3 speed settings + neutral and reverse. My opinion is the detents should be more solid so you don't bump them out of your desired setting.
The engine/electrical & battery areas seem to be snow proofed well and I have not had any moisture issues. The battery compartment stays dry even when needing to swap out batteries.
The equipment and batteries are stored in a heated garage (around 50-60F).

I use this with 3 80V batteries (2 5ah and 1 4ah for a total of 14ah). I am normally clearing two 3 car driveways aprox 25' in length and then go around my city block twice to clear the sidewalk. (About :45min to an hour) I generally keep the auger spinning while manually backing up on driveway runs.
When removing 2-3 inches of very wet snow, with temperatures slightly above or at freezing, I am able to get all done and have about 1/4 of the total ah's left over.
This last snow was 7" of dry snow with temperatures around 25F. Battery life, as expected, is much less with deeper snow. I mostly stopped the auger while manually backing up to conserve battery life (there is a reverse function on the drive but it moves fairly slowly in reverse). I was able to clear 1 of the driveways (3 car) and do one pass of approx 500' of sidewalk before the batteries (14 total ah) died. Recharge took approximately 1 hour on the quick chargers and I finished the job.

One was always red and had to wait to charge it was warm to the touch. This just was not worth the money. Batteries had to be charged way too many times. I have a load of other greenworks tools and stuff. But this was a horrible experience and embarrassing. All my neighbors were clean and back inside while I waited for batteries to charge. 3 x !!!!

For best use in heavy snow types, you will want to move less at once and move a little quicker. Once a full pass has been completed, only move about a third of the width of the unit with each pass going forward. Blows Snow Well, But Leaves Too Much Behind

I have several Greenworks 80V products, and I've loved them. I don't feel the same about this snow blower and I'm hoping to get this resolved.

Handle is Tough to Work
The handle feels like it is going to break when turning the blowing direction and it requires too much force, at least compared to other models, both Greenworks brand and others I've tried.

Instructions
The instructions were terrible. I put together another Greenworks snow blower a month or two ago (the 20" version) and it was quick. The instructions were super confusing and cost me an extra hour or so of cold frustration in my garage.

Missing Springs
The green handle on the dispenser needs springs, but they weren't included. I searched everywhere in the box and never saw them.

Blows Snow Well
One good thing is that the snow that makes it into the blower is blown well. Seems like a decent machine, just needs a few tweaks for me to actually like it.
