It runs for about 20 minutes full speed (not boost) then requires 45 minutes of charging again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the run time of this battery when used in this blower. To extend your run time, try using it on a lower speed when high speed is not a requirement. When used at high speed, approximately 20 minutes in this blower is an average run time for the supplied 2.5AH battery as this unit does draw quite a bit of power on high, however, the run time can be extended by using it at a lower speed. Alternatively, additional batteries can be purchased to extend the run time. This unit is compatible with all 80V Greenworks batteries. The higher the ampere-hour (AH) rating is, the longer the run time will be. Putting this together was a bit frustrating because of the inflexiblity of some of the plastic parts but the ease of use, comfort of the backpack, and the weight of the blower makes for a much better day's work. As a woman in the field of landscape design, I often find that the equipment often weighs more than I do. This is a refreshing change and simply a great piece of equipment.
