Junk....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very heavy and came without a sholder strap which in my opion is essential. Stringing the spool is a nightmare. I have other cordless trimmers which are a pleasure to work with in comparison...lighter and stringing the spool is much easier. I would not recommend this product.
Pros: Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Powerful

This string trimmer is awesome!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This string trimmer is awesome! I'm a really experienced user (used to own a landscaping company with over 400 weekly lawn maintenance customers...), and am super impressed. I know that you aren't "supposed" to do this, but I run it without the guard, and used square .080 line run a little long and it cuts through ANYTHING without hesitation. After used on my .5 acre lawn, it still has 75+% battery power with the supplied battery. As for my useage, it's perfect and has no negatives.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Effective, Powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I intentionally purchased a refurbished unit with the battery power that matches our lawnmower. The purchase went fine, and the tech team answered some basic questions about the operation of the unit as provided instructions were scant. I was even referenced to a YouTube video on how to wind up the string. I'm use to buying pre-wound spools. I'm practicing now as I'm not use to dual strings cutting at once. It was worth the money!

Terrible design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine would be great with a better design. The issue it has is with the string element, it’s designed to stop whenever the string hit a solid surface so it constantly stops while weeding near pavement or a wall. Then you have to take of the feeder and reattach, this alone is enough to drive someone crazy as you have to keep the string wrapped around the wheel while at the same time feeding it into opposite holes in either side of the head. And if you don’t line it up just right it dosent work.

Hello Bad design.
Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear issue you are experiencing. The unit is not designed to stop when it near a pavement or wall. We would like to make some suggestions to improve your experience with the tool. Trimmer line usually breaks because of line crowding. This occurs when the trimmer head is held too close to hard objects that can break the line such as brick, cement, rocks, or fencing. Keeping the line at full extension, and not crowding it, reduces line breakage problems. We suggest cutting with the bare tip of the line because this is the section which moves at the highest speed. Do not let it hit into grass. Ease the line into vegetation, bit by bit from the edge. Line can also get wrapped around thick vegetation and become tangled, breaking the line. Listen to the sound of the machine and when the line slows down; back off out of the grass. We hope these suggestions help. If you still have questions or an unresolved issue after going through this troubleshooting guide, or just want to speak to a Greenworks product expert, please start a Live Chat on Greenworks Tools website or contact us by phone at 1-888-909-6757. Disappointed
on September 6, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this on-line. Easy to buy. Not so great to use. Switching from wack to edge requires several steps to get the angle just right. The biggest problem was when the string gets stuck (it always does). There is no release button so you can just pull more string. You have to take the whole spool out and then reassemble. Mine got stuck about every 30 seconds in edge mode. A real pain. My Ryobi was much better in that regard, however the lever kept getting stuck. Gonna try another brand or hire a lawn service.

Hello Schreib.
Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear of your experience. Often when the trimmer line will not advance, it is due to one of the following possibilities
1. The motor shaft or trimmer head is bound with grass -> Stop the trimmer, unplug the trimmer, and remove the grass.
2. Spool is dirty.
3. Line is tangled in the spool -> Unplug the trimmer, remove the line from the spool, and rewind.
We have also shared a useful video showing the trimmer in use. (https://youtu.be/7UFWEojslbw). We hope this helps!

80 V String trimmer with 2.5ah battery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After researching all the major brands that sell gas and battery powered string trimmers I decided to get the GreenWorks 16" string trimmer with the 80v 2.5ah battery. It's amazing how bad the reviews are for many of the gas powered units from the major manufacturers.
I really liked the specs on this Greenworks string trimmer, overall design and reviews. I bought the 21" battery powered lawn mower last year for edging my yard and have been very happy with it.

Durable, powerful, and flexible

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using this trimmer for about a year now with great results. I have the edge, string trimmer and blower attachments and I am very happy with them. Swapping out an attachment is quick and can be done in just a few seconds. The only thing I don’t love about it, is that it’s a bit on the heavy side so having the shoulder strap on this is helpful. It’s also a little heavier towards the back end which can increase fatigue on big jobs. But overall, I perceive it as being very powerful for an electric trimmer and more on par with a gas trimmer than other electrics I have used. Very happy and would buy this again.
