Works great mechanically but not satisfied with hesitation of motor when first starting... seems like it’s sluggish for initial power-I want to replace with different machine ASAP
works good, but not as good as imagined for the high price tag, I still have to stop the blender and mix with a spoon to get it to continue, like i did with my last blender that cost a fraction of the price. a bit disappointing. other then that, we like it..
Third 5200, this motor hesitates before getting up to speed - an intentional feature to ease up to full power, or a defect? Reason I'm leaning towards the later is one time it hummed without turning like stuck, then finally turned when I dialed it up. It certainly is giving me pause. The other issue is that when the blade initially turns at low speeds, there is a clicking noise, as if the bearings had not been packed. If I don't hear back from you here, I will be in touch with Customer Service.

My Vitamix had an error message immediately after I ran the wash cycle. The machine did not get overheated. Error message will show if Vitamix is left on; not running but on. If I put small quantities in the container the error message will appear again.

The E1 error code you have received is an Internal Communication Error. To clear the error code, we recommend cycling the power switch from the "On" to the "Off" position, waiting five seconds and then turning the power switch back to the "On" position. Please note that it may take a few attempts to clear the error code. This error code will appear if the machine needs to be recalibrated.

Obsessed!! We use our new vitamix twice a day. Our smoothies have gotten healthier since now I can add tons of greens and seeds and everything gets blended into an ultra smooth mixture. Also love that it heats our sauces so our plant cheese is ready to go once the macaroni is cooked. I don’t know how I lived without this machine!

This vitamix 5200 has been used in my home daily for 11 years! We use it to mix gastrostomy tube feeds every day, and blended drinks usually about twice per week. I purchased our blender in 2014. We have never had a mechanical breakdown or any major repairs that needed taken care of.
I would give it 4.5 stars. It is super powerful. A little frightening how powerful it is compared to the junk blenders we've used in the past. The only reason it is not 5 stars is that it isn't dishwasher safe. That's fine but I made the mistake of using a typical sponge with an abrasive side to clean some bits that didn't get cleaned by the recommended process. I ended up scratching up the inside of the container. It made it a bit cloudy to look through. I wish the instructions would have cautioned against the use of abrasives for cleaning. Other than that, we are very happy with the unit. I would recommend this unit, just be careful cleaning it.

5200 Still going years later

I have had a Vitamix 5200 for at least 10 years. I was considering purchasing a new machine as I want want one that will work with the food processor adaptor. After a lot of research and my 5200 still working great, I'm thinking (for now) I will hold off and keep using what I have. Maybe I can give this to my daughter and it will give me the excuse to buy the new Ascent!
