My husband and I purchased this Vitamix. We had heard how great it was from friends who had one, but after using it almost daily, we absolutely love it. I did use the dry grain attachment and made oat flour for a recipe. It took a couple of seconds and I didn't need to drive to town for oat flour- I just made what I needed. The smoothies are so smooth and the soups rock! Thanks again, Vitamix!

I've had my Model 5000 for 10 years and it still runs...I turn on my Vitamix more than my oven.

I bought my Vitamix about a month ago and it has made a world of difference in making the protein shakes I drink every day. As part of a medical necessity, I drink 3 protein drinks that require mixing powder, supplements, oil, coconut milk and ice. The constant clean up with a regular blender was exhausting. With the Vitamix the shakes mix up SO quickly and evenly. The shakes are frothy and the supplements and powder are always mixed perfectly. Clean up is extremely easy and fast. I have yet to try green drinks or fruit/veggie smoothies with the Vitamix. But I am excited to do so! Thank you for a great product!

I've had my Super 5200 series Vitamix for over 10 years. I don't know what I would do without it. It still works great! I use it in a variety of ways to support my Whole Food Plant-Based (WFPB) lifestyle. It really is a must-have for any healthy diet. I use it in a variety of ways:
grind decaf coffee beans
grind grains, beans, seeds, and nuts
frozen "nice" cream
hot soups
smoothies
cashew cream(er)
nut/seed butter
sauces, dressings, dips
etc.
It blends things so much creamier than any other machine I've ever used. It even makes smooth sauces that have raspberry and blackberry seeds. No more little seeds getting stuck in my teeth!

we havent been able to use the vitamix at all. It doesnt blend or do things that are advertised.

Hype not worth it!

I don’t understand why this machine is so expensive and why people think it’s such a good product. 9 times out of 10 my machine stops working and it smells like something is burning. It’s a big piece of garbage. I’ve tried to love it but I hate this machine. Completely unreliable.

Hi! If your Vitamix shut down while you were blending, it is likely it temporarily overheated. Sometimes the machine may emit a burning odor and/or stop temporarily because its thermal protector sensed that the machine was close to overheating. If this occurs, we recommend turning the power switch off for up to 45 minutes, allowing the machine to cool down or reset. To avoid overheating your machine in the future, be sure to ramp the machine up to the highest speed within five seconds of turning it on to activate the cooling fan in the motor.
If you have not done so already, please try to power your Vitamix on today to see if it has regained power. If not, we suggest attempting to power the Vitamix on using an outlet in a different room, as this may sometimes be required to reset it.

If you have the money..GET IT! (Game Changer!)

I've had this for a few months now and there is no doubt in my mind that it won't last for decade or maybe longer. It was for sure made to last. I took the advice of many raw-foodist and they didn't steer me wrong. I wouldn't purchase any other blender after experiencing this high of a performance. Theres a reason it's so expensive.. it's worth it. If you can afford it, get it and you will not be unhappy.
NOTE: I WAS worried about cleaning the blender since the bottom blade isn't easily removable like the Ninja, which was my old blender, but It's *easier* to clear than the ninja. I didn't believe it would work at first, but the Vitamix dvd that came along with my purchase said to blend soapy water on high for about a minute or so and then just rinse and wipe clean. So yes, it's very easy to clean. Just get a long neck 'bottle' brush to scrub the bottom for stickier stuff like peanuts, sauce etc. Still 2 thumbs up!!

Blade dull, motor gone in less than a year.

Vitamix has over-promised and undersold. We purchased this model around Nov 2014, and now (July 2015) the blade seems dull, food is getting stuck beneath the blade, and the motor just went. We are grateful for the 7 year warranty, but I am at the mercy of a non-responsive company, whom I contacted a week ago.
