Anywhere you look, this blender tops the charts as the best, and there's a reason, it simply is the best. Its got a big pricetag, but it stands up. You will be making the best smoothies, soups, butters; really the sky is the limit. There is certainly a 'best' way to load food into the blender (e.g. when to put in the milk vs when to add the frozen fruit chunks), but there are plenty of guides to help you learn the way. Say goodbye to chunky smoothies. You will not regret this purchase.

I have have a Vitamix 5200 for maybe 20 years. I realized it wasn't working as well as it once did so we decided to replace it. We basically use it for smoothies using essentially the same ingredients as we always have for many years. Sadly, the new 5200 doesn't work nearly as well as the old one. About once a week I have go dig out the base unit from the garage to finish our breakfast because the new one once again shuts down. There is no way this unit could make ice cream or anything else remotely heavy duty like the old one could when it was new. Very disappointed in this product.

Hi, we are sorry to hear of your experience. Please know that the newer units have a more sensitive thermal protection system to protect the motor and will shut off when they get too warm. To avoid overheating your machine in the future, be sure to ramp the machine up to the highest speed within five seconds of turning it on to activate the cooling fan in the motor. This blender has been used for a making different things and it really does it well.Ive made smoothies on other blenders and it was almost always lumpy , but my vitamin really gets all my ingredients down to a fine liquid. It has plenty of power, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I waited for years to purchase a vitamix. Because of the cost. Not realizing the actual cost I was paying by using a sub par blender. Wow. This is my favorite appliance and I use it daily. There is not a price tag you can put on your health and this is so worth the money!
