Not a bad blender but for the price and hype I cannot say that I'd recommend this blender to a friend when other brands are available for less money and often the same or more capabilities. Essentially you're buying a very powerful motor (with a warranty) with everything else being what you'd expect of any blender on the market.
*I think I may even have to contact support soon for my blender due to some odd behaviors when in use (only a couple of months after purchasing.

I absolutely love this blender. I have never had a blender with this kind of power. It completely pulverizes anything you throw at it. I made a fruit smoothy in less than 3 minutes with this machine! I had to add more water because it was so thick! In summary, this machine is amazing and I will not hesitate to buy another one in the future. Worth every penny.

I purchased the Vitamix 5200 to make smoothies and such. While I find it makes a wonderful smoothie, the blender was not what I expected for the high ratings or the price. I find the settings basic and the transition from the low to high setting is extremely loud and the blender seems to struggle when going from low to high- there is no smooth transition. I have wanted a Vitamix forever and finally got one so this has me disappointed. I may have needed to go to a higher price point to get more settings that work for me.

Don’t love it. It’s all plastic and the base of the blender is narrow. It’s jammed several times when thick or frozen items are at the bottom. For the price, we’re not impressed. Wouldn’t buy again.

Hi there, we are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Vitamix. For best results there are some techniques we recommend you follow:
Check Your Speed
When starting the machine, make sure the Variable Speed Dial is turned to 1(or, the ‘Stop’ position). Turn the machine on and turn the Variable Speed Dial from 1 to the highest speed your Vitamix has within five seconds. The Vitamix machine performs best on High speed to pulverize food and process thick mixtures.
Follow Order of Ingredients
Place ingredients into the container in the order listed in your Vitamix recipe. If working with your own recipe, start with a base of liquid (water, juice, milk), followed by softer ingredients (tofu, yogurt), then juicier fruits and vegetables (grapes, cucumbers), firmer fruits and vegetables (apples, carrots), frozen ingredients (frozen berries), and finally ice. If you use protein powders, they should follow the ice.
Use the Tamper
If ingredients are not freely circulating, the tamper can be used to improve the flow of food. While the machine is running and with the lid firmly in place, insert the tamper through the lid plug opening and begin working it in the four corners of the container. As the food travels around the side of the container, the tamper directs it right into the blades. If there is an air pocket around the blade, the tamper will release the air pocket and create a continuous flow of food through the blades.
