Vitamix is the best!

Purchased machine for my kids when heading to college since they were used to using one at home. They taught their roommates how to use the machine and will all be lifetime owners of a Vitamix machine. Durable and reliable machine!

So far so good. We have had our 5200 for a few weeks now and use it almost every day.
Making smoothies at home is a great way to save money and improve nutrition for everyone, but for my wife and me it goes several steps further. We both suffer from digestive troubles that prevent us from eating whole, healthy fruits and vegetables. As such, our 5200 transforms the inedible into the drinkable!
I am amazed at the way our Vitamix 5200 breaks down fruits and vegetables. Oranges, apples, carrots, spinach...you name it and the 5200 will turn it into a smooth drink that can be sipped from a glass.
We chose the 5200 because it is a tried-and-proven Vitamix model and because of its simplicity. Three easy controls. No muss, no fuss.
If there's a caveat to this powerful blender, it's the noise. At the highest speed, the 5200 produces a throaty growl that's anything but stealthy. No problem. Ear plugs do the trick for the time being, but we plan to purchase a sound enclosure later on.
We wish we'd purchased our 5200 a long time ago, but we're glad we have it now.

Really wonderful machine and worked a few times very well. The motor started overheating, producing a burning odor, and turning off within the first 5 times we used the blender. It's unusable on anything a little thicker than water. We sent it back to the warranty shop, but haven't gotten it back as yet.

Hi! It is important to know that sometimes the machine may emit a burning odor and/or stop temporarily because its thermal protector sensed that the machine was about to overheat. If this occurs, we recommend turning the power switch off for up to 45 minutes, allowing the machine to cool down or reset. To avoid overheating your machine in the future, be sure to ramp the machine up to the highest speed within five seconds of turning it on to activate the cooling fan in the motor.
