I have really long hair and when I use this I have to put it on the docking station between sections or the battery dies. Sometimes it's just faster to hold it in my hand between sections, but it died before I could finish my whole head! It's a little heavy too. But it straightens really nicely and I'm glad I bought it. The lowest heat setting doesn't burn my hair like other straighteners did.
LOVE, love this! Not only does it straighten but also curls as well. Love the fact you are not tethered to a cord. Once again, Dyson has done this right! Big Dyson fan - have fans, vacuums, hair dryer, and now the straightener!
To get good results, I have to use very high heat - much higher than my plug-in.

Hi Trey, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear that you're not having a better experience thus far with your Corrale straightener. We wouldn't expect that you'd need to utilize very high heat to achieve your desired style. The flexing plates featured on your Corrale provide flex in the plates themselves, unlike floating plates that sit on a moving base. This flex gives you more control to delivery enhanced styling with less heat. Your Corrale also offers intelligent heat control. The straightener has an integrated sensor system that helps to regular the plate temperate 100 times a second. This helps to ensure that the plates never exceed your chosen temperature.
We'd value the opportunity to assist you, to make sure your Dyson is working properly. Please feel free to contact us directly at askdysonus@dyson.com. We're keen on providing you with support and learning more about your experience.
There are 3 major points of failure fir me with this product:
- I have straight, fine hair that is below shoulder length. Each time I use this, my hair gets caught in the ridges meant to line the hair up and guide it onto the plates, and ultimately I tear or rip out hair…no matter how well I brush it first.
- It is heavy and awkward to manipulate
- There is a lot of bulk in material behind and yo the side of the plates making it hard to get in close to the head for some root volume lifting moves.
In general I am much faster and precise with my lighter, less bulky plug in hair straightener.
This was a major disappointment and a large loss of money.

Hello, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to learn that you're not having a better experience with your Dyson Corrale™ straightener. While the Corrale may seem heavier when you first pick it up, the weight is due to the advanced 4-cell lithium-ion battery technology. This helps give you maximum styling time and thermal performance of a corded straightener. The battery's placement is also engineered to help provide balance in the hand, giving you maximum control while styling - all without a bulky cord.
With regard to it pulling or catching your hair, we would recommend making sure parting your hair in 3 sections and ensuring your hair is fully dry before you use the Dyson Corrale straightener. Another tip we recommend is using some tension as the plates are flexible and applying tension will allow the hair to pass through with ease.
We'd value the opportunity to learn more about your experience with your Dyson as we'd like to help ensure you are having a 5-star experience. Please feel free to reach out to us at askdysonUS@dyson.com, and we will be in touch.
I love my Corrale. I have thick wavy gray hair that has been difficult to straighten with standard flat irons. What I especially like about is that it is cordless and that it gives my hair volume at the roots that lasts a couple days.
I have an air wrap. Love it! Worth the money but the straightener was mediocre at best. Pulls your hair from root to tip, bulky, and although it doesn’t let your hair fall out of the plates the plates are tiny. Only does small sections.

Hello Jese, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're glad to hear that you've loved the Dyson Airwrap so much, that you decided to give the Corrale straightener a shot. The Corrale straightener uses four key pieces of technology. The flexing plates provide just the right amount of flex to gather and adapt to the hair, and also provide the tension needed for styling. The intelligent heater system delivers the required heat to the plates. Intelligent heat control regulates the temperature of the plates 100 times a second to make sure they never exceed your chosen temperature. And finally, a 4-cell lithium ion battery enables enhanced styling with cord-free versatility.
We wouldn't expect to hear that your hair feels like it's being pulled, while using the Corrale. To ease that, we would recommend making sure parting your hair in 3 sections and ensuring your hair is fully dry before you use the straightener. Another tip we recommend is using some tension as the plates are flexible and applying tension will allow the hair to pass through with ease.
We're keen to go over your machine with you and learn more about your experience, as we'd like to help ensure that your Dyson is performing properly. Please consider emailing us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com.
