I was excited to get this as I have wanted one for years. I had been using a ghd straightener and purchased this when it died. Unfortunately, it wasn’t for me. My hair is pretty thick and it was just too heavy for me to comfortably use. In addition, i could hear and feel it snagging my hair. For the money, I didn’t think it was worth it. The ghd does as good a job for $300 less.

Hello Nat, this is Kelly with Dyson. We were happy to see from your review how excited you were to try out the Dyson Corrale™ straightener. The Corrale™ straightener uses four key pieces of technology. The flexing plates provide just the right amount of flex to gather and adapt to the hair, and also provide the tension needed for styling. The intelligent heater system delivers the required heat to the plates. Intelligent heat control regulates the temperature of the plates 100 times a second to make sure they never exceed your chosen temperature. And finally, a 4-cell lithium ion battery enables enhanced styling with cord-free versatility.
While we can confirm that the Corrale straightener may seem heavier when you first pick it up, that's due to the advanced 4-cell lithium-ion battery technology, which gives you maximum styling time along with the thermal performance you'd expect from a corded straightener. When designing the Corrale, our team of engineers designed the battery's placement to help provide balance in the hand while styling your hair.
We would value the opportunity to ensure that your straightener is performing as designed, or address any questions or concerns you may have. Please feel free to email askdysonUS@dyson.com we are happy to provide you with support.
I have tried mini straighteners and this is the only one that lets me be able to straighten my hair like a salon quality straighten! I have thick hair and this is the only straightener that I will ever use again and I have the blow dryer and the air up and they’re amazing! I love dyson!!
I received this as a present because I’ve been begging for this straightener since it came out. I was soo excited to try it. I loved how smooth my hair feels afterwards and I only have to pass my hair with it once or twice. With that said, I have A LOT of hair so it would die on me and I would have to wait and charge it. The first time I didn’t have any plans so it didn’t matter to me but the second time I had plans and the fact that it died on me and I still had about a fourth of my hair left made me mad. It was connected to the outlet but uses more energy than it’s charging so it doesn’t matter if it’s connected to the outlet or not. It still died. I was disappointed to say the least and as much as I wanted to keep it and love it I just can’t straighten my hair for half an hour charge it and straighten the other half later in the day. It’s not doable all the time. If you have short hair, fine hair, not damaged this will work great. But if you have long hair, coarse hair, and a lot of it like myself then don’t buy it. It will keep dying on you.

Hello Danya, this is Kelly with Dyson. I was thrilled to read the beginning part of your review, and to see how excited you were to try out the Dyson Corrale™ straightener.
With regard to the length of time you were able to get while using the Corrale cordless, the straightener will provide up to 30 minutes of cord-free styling. However this will vary depending on heat setting and how the product is used. Your Dyson Corrale fast charges during the first 40 minutes of being plugged in (up to ~95% of battery charge). For the remainder of the 30 minutes of charging the process slows to protect the battery from being over charged. The greatest draw on the charge of the battery is during the heating up period; taking the heater plates from ambient/room temperature up to 210°C/410°F. Therefore, the largest drop in battery charge would be expected in the first few minutes of each use. After this, the drop in charge on the OLED will slow down as the battery only has to maintain the temperature of the plates
Since you do have longer, thicker hair, the length of cord-free styling time may be significantly shorter, due to making more passes due to thickness, or longer passes due to the length. Excellent maneuverability due to being a remote iron.
Been using it for a month and has not damaged my hair as other iron machines.
BUT the battery life is just a joke. I have not being able to use the iron for the whole hair without having to recharge it fully again. Bare in mind every time I’ve used it it was fully recharged. So if our hair is long and thick (middle eastern Arabic hair) this is NOT the iron to go for.
Also since I can’t wait for my hair to be done I tried to use it with the plug on but since it’s a magnetic plug it detaches very easily.
Other than that it’s a good brand but it needs a lot of improvement regarding battery life if the brand is trying to target thick and long hair customers.
If your hair is short and or thin I’d say it’s an excellent choice.

It straightens well with just one maybe two passes. My hair feels nice afterwards, not damaged or dry. Love that it curls too and the cordless option is handy for on the go hair. The only letdown is the charge. Even plugged in the battery runs out as it is being used. I wish that when plugged in, it worked like a regular hair straightener, I have a lot of hair and it takes a bit to get through it all. And even starting with a full charge and with it plugged in. It drains the battery. It is also quite heavy compared to most straighteners. If this is out of your budget, but thinking about it, I would not recommended purchasing it.
This is my second one, the battery life on this sucks! Even when it's plugged in. It doesn't keep a charge. It's very frustrating, how many time do I have to replace it for the price I payed for it.

Hello Tina, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've found the cord-free operating time of the Dyson Corrale™ straightener to be so disappointing, thus far in your use. It provides up to 30 minutes cord-free styling and is fully recharged in just 70 minutes. You can also extend your run time by attaching the magnetic 360ᵒ charging cable for use in hybrid charge mode should you need longer. Also, while in use to help prolong the battery life, we'd recommend placing the straightener back on the dock, between styling sections of your hair.
When using the Corrale, even if you are using the appliance in hybrid charge mode, the battery will still consume power while it's charging. That can result in longer charging times. I love how fast it is, I only run it twice on my hair and it leaves it perfect and so shiny and silky, but it also makes beautiful waves, I am so glad I decided to get it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not happy , not dissatisfied, it’s ok , expensive,so I feel it should be a little better
