I knew I wasn't sleeping well with my old boxsprings, but I had no idea how drastic the change would be with this foundation. It is solid, NEVER moves, and never makes even the slightest sound, even when my 8-year-old jumps on my bed to wake me up on the weekend. :) The price was very reasonable, and the assembly was super simple. Would recommend to anyone!
So far, so good! We have had our Ghost Bed for about three weeks now, and it is extremely comfortable. There was a slight smell of plastic when we opened the packaging and the mattress started to expand. This lasted only about 45 minutes, and then there was no smell of any kind. The mattress expands very quickly.
Be aware that the box the mattress comes in weighs about 85 pounds, so although the box is smaller than you'd expect, it will take two people to move it inside. The foundation weighs about 65 pounds and is shipped separately.
Also, this is a very thick mattress, so you may be farther off the floor than you have been accustomed. This is a medium-firm mattress - not hard, but certainly not "squishy" at all.
It is just a shame we wait so long to change a mattress from conventional to ghostbed the best move I've ever made in 63 years of life thank you ghost bed
Ordering was easy. Delivery prompt. Set-up simple. I ordered Gostbed due mainly to the firmness rating of 7 vs some competitors at 3 to 5. I needed a firmer mattress and that is just what I received. As this was during a promotional period, I also received pillows. They are somewhat of a disappointment as they compress to about 2 inches when I sleep on my side. This is not sufficient support for my neck so I use two pillows to hold my head/neck at a proper angle. If the pillows were not so compressible, this would be a five star review.
Relatively easy to put together. Took me and my husband about an hour total, but that’s only because it was damaged when we received it. It was a “easy” fix, but wish we didn’t have to fix to begin with. Otherwise, it works just like a boxspring should.
The GhostBed box spring is mostly easy to assemble (lining up the slats and making them stay in place is tougher than I pictured), but I had a working box spring within 30 minutes of starting. Pretty good, and it seems high-quality too!
