Great resolution, okay picture quality.

I’ve wanted a 6k monitor for a long time, often wishing I had bought the Apple Pro Display XDR when it was brand new so I could somehow justify it’s price by having the monitor for many years. I ended up waiting and went with this display. While the resolution and size is great, the picture quality wasn’t what I expected.
There is off-axis color issues even when looking at the monitor from straight on. Something about the size of the screen and the fact that the outer edges are at a slight angle means that some portion of the screen always looks a little dark. Also, something about the screen just appears “dirty” (for lack of a better word). Whites don’t feel entirely white. There seems to be a slight texture to everything — perhaps due to refresh rate, but I was already used to 60hz with the Apple Studio Display so I don’t think it’s that. The picture quality is just clearly inferior to the Studio Display for everyday, casual, productivity use and I wasn’t willing to make that trade-off so I returned it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
