Previously we have been using Mr. Coffee, coffee makers. Our new Cuisinart is faster and the coffee seems very flavorful. We are glad we made the change. Easy controls and programming.

A week after unboxing, the clean light went on. Descaled with vinegar per instructions, and a week later, the clean light is back on. Hoping this isn't a fatal flaw.

Prior to buying this Cuisinart with the "cone-shaped" filters, our last 2 units were another brand with flat-bottomed filters. I'm not sure why, but this coffeemaker seems to have a much weaker brew-strength, even when using the "Bold" setting. It also seems to leave some of the grounds nearly dry, even when brewing is compete. I have been using paper filters, I will try the reusable gold metal filter that was included as well, although I feel that rinsing and cleaning that every day is a bit of a hassle and water-waster.
