Makes great tasting coffee, but has quirks

We just bought this to replace another coffee maker. The good is, it's a great looking machine! We ran an initial pot of just water through, like the directions suggested. When we went to brew a pot the next morning, we noticed an odd, plastic taste to the pot we brewed. That did disappear on the second pot, but maybe run two cycles of water only. Filling the reservoir is a bit clumsy. Our last brewer we could remove the water reservoir, fill it and replace it without having to fill the pot, our the water (and clean up the spill). So not the most efficient design in that regard. The coffee tastes great now, but we didn't realize that the Bold brew option has to be pressed Each Time You Brew! The last brewer at least remembered that we wanted bold each pot. Lastly, the display is BRIGHT! It lights up half the kitchen at night. I only wish there were a way to dim the display. It's a good machine, it makes great coffee, but it has its quirks.

The first thing I do every morning is to turn on our Cuisinart coffee pot. That morning my 8 year coffee pot had passed overnight. I proceeded to shower, get dressed and headed to the department store to buy my new Cuisinart 14 Cup Coffee Pot. I live this pot and it brews fabulous coffee. Best coffee pot ever!

This is my third Cuisinart Coffee maker of this type in 30 years. I’ve recommended it to many friends. The coffee maker lasts a long time (daily use) and make wonderful coffee until they give up the ghost. I grind my own beans and I love, love my morning java.

I believe I’ve been buying this 14 cup maker since it came out. This is my 3rd one. I make a pot every day so it does eventually need to be replaced every 3-4 years?
I would recommend this to a friend!
