We've been through a number of coffee makers in the last couple years and this is our first Cuisinart. We value and prefer simple, elegant, functional designs without lots of "features" that few ever use. We are very pleased with this product so far and hope it will continue to make excellent coffee for a long time (i.e. more than 5 years...). Yes, it makes EXCELLENT coffee QUICKLY and is SIMPLE TO USE. And it was reasonably priced. Can attest it is the best coffee maker we've owned to date. A couple of improvements and it would be PERFECT. First, while not difficult, the opening for pouring in water is still a little small and awkwardly placed in the back (like many, many makers); especially if you only have a countertop space with some cabinets overhead. Really like the 14 cup carafe. But, for unknown reasons the pouring lip will dribble from time to time. Most of the time it does not, but sometimes it does; go figure. Still like it better than any we've tried. The electronics are simple, easy to read and operate. Love the auto warmer plate off. The unit has a primary blue LED light that is on all the time that is very bright. Great for daytime but it really lights up the kitchen at night. The final test is how long this product will last... our prior 3 coffee makers (other brands) failed or had problems not long after the warranty period...
