We purchased this coffee maker because we have had one like it for many years and wanted a new one. No other makers we could find were as capable as this model.

Works great. The cone-shaped filter helps make the coffee stronger, which is what we were looking for. I appreciate that it came with a reusable filter, and we love the "bold" option for brewing. The only option I wish it had was an option to select the number of cups (rather than measuring out exactly how much water you need each time) you want to brew. We got this as a wedding registry item and are glad we did!

Poor brewing

The machine looks lovely. My coffee always tastes burnt, it doesn’t matter the roast of coffee or what temperature the warming plate is on. It constantly tastes burnt. I have tried cleaning it, that doesn’t help either. When you use the brew button the machine guves one less cup than what you put in. For instance you put in 6 cups (machine measured markings) you will only get 5 cups in the carafe. I thought some water was staying in the grounds, so I tried with no coffee and same thing. The machine gives one less cup in the carafe than what you put into the reservoir.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
