Cuisinart has done it again! While many appliance manufacturers tend to create "new and improved" appliances, Cuisinart focuses on refining what already works well. I recently purchased the DCC-3200 to replace an older (14 years) model of the same type. Everything on the new machine was better than before. The quality of materials, fit, and finish, as well as the ease of operation, were top-notch. I think this one will definitely outlast the old version. My son-in-law retired his old version as well . . . It was the first one we owned, and we gave it to them about 15 years ago...that pot was still working up to 18 years.
