This is our second Cuisinart coffee maker. The first one was about 5 years old and still works, but when we saw this one with the features and the back-lit clock, I knew we had to have it. It makes terrific coffee and the buttons are really easy to use, as well as the overall set up being easy to manage. The new design of the carafe and how it fits into the machine is much easier to put in and out than the last one was. Also, the lid design has been updated so when you open it, the condensed water goes back into the machine, not all over the countertop. The reservoir is much easier to pour water into and we like the reservoir window on the side that shows how much water is in the machine. Overall, I would recommend the coffee maker. We really love it.

I bought this to replace our old Mr. Coffee. My husband and I really are happy with it. The temperature of the coffee is perfect - nice and hot and that's on the medium setting! The reason I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 is the lid of the coffee pot. Since it's just the two of us, we "refresh" our coffee when it has set for a while and has become cool. In other words, we pour it back into the pot and then pour another cup. You have to take the lid completely off to do this. It's very counter-intuitive to a typical coffee pot. Other than that, it's a terrific coffee maker.

We purchased our first one a little over a year ago. It quit after a year. We figured it as a fluke or operator error and bought another one of the same kind. It lasted 10 days. Sorry - Have to tell you we exchanged this last one for a Kitchen Aid.
