Like many others, I had the DCC-1200, which was great, but that had one flaw and so does this new model...when you lift the lid to remove the coffee, water drips down the back of the unit. Is it a deal breaker? No. Is it annoying? Yes.
It makes a good cup of coffee and it's good to have the different temperature settings. The ready beep is very loud, but it can be turned off.

Our previous coffee make was also a cuisinart. Coffee was good but the clock and setting numbers were impossible to read and the reservoir opening was so small that we poured almost as much water on the counter as we did into the unit. When shopping for a new one, we noticed that these improvements had been made. We like it a lot. Price was also fair.
