I'm mostly pleased with my coffeemaker. However, there are three design issues I would like to point out. (1) Refilling the water reservoir is somewhat awkward. I have to fill it from the left side while leaning far to the right to watch the reservoir tube fill up to the appropriate level. It is easy water to spill while doing this. (2) It is also easy to spill hot coffee on the counter while pouring from the carafe because of the design of the spout. I have learned to avoid spillage by pouring slowly. If I pour vigorously, the stream of coffee is too wide for the opening and it goes out the side of the opening (and onto the counter). (3) When you open the door at the top to remove the used coffee grounds, condensation streams out the back of the lid, down the back side of the coffeemaker, and creates a large pool of water on the counter. I love the size and functionality of this machine but am annoyed that the design is so poor.

I purchased this to replace a coffee bar that was a little over a year old after it started leaking and ruined my granite counters. I love this. The features are great and it is easy to use, and best of all, makes really hot delicious coffee with no mess.

This is my second Cuisinart coffee maker. I like it for ease of use, however I feel there is a design flaw. I like to open the lid to dry out before putting away. The design to catch water dripping down from the lid to put back into the tank doesn't work well as water dribbles down the back and now I have to dry the coffee maker and the counter. Also there should be more explanation for each button and what it does if on or off. For example I buy bold type coffee to start so what is the benefit of the "Bold" button? When should it be used?
