I like many things about this mixer. I like the size and sleekness of the machine. I like the simplicity of the dial and the ease of raising and lowering the head. I like the cord can be pushed into the base for storage (Cuisinart, you should make the plug fit into the base too!) It is quiet, smooth and efficient. I bought it to replace an older Sunbeam Mixmaster I've had for about 40 years - that was starting to thump when I retired it. I have only used the regular mixing wand so far, not the dough hook or the whip. What brought me to three stars instead of more was that the mixing wand doesn't reach to the bottom of the bowl and completely mix stuff. My Christmas cheesecake batter had large lumps that needed to be spatula'd back into the center of the bowl and re-mixed a few times. While easy to do, it still was an unnecessary extra step that engineers should have been able to solve. Tell me why this is so? It should be a simple fix of design.

I was really excited to have a stand mixer, this was my first. I thought it would be just as good as the major competitor brand, seemed heavy and durable. Well, it wasn't. After 6 months of use, a gear stripped and the mixer could no longer spin. I like to have a product that has parts can be easily bought and replaced- searched high and low, couldn't find a replacement gear. I contacted Cuisinart, who at first told me to unplug the mixer and plug it back in...after a few emails and a few weeks, they told me I could ship the mixer back for repairs that could take 2+ months. By this time, I was quite tired of dealing with it and couldn't finish my holiday baking- so I bought a much more durable mixer instead, that has parts available almost anywhere, should something need replacement. I felt as though even if I had my Cuisinart mixer repaired, it still wouldn't hold up over time. It worked well enough when it was functioning, but there are much better options out there for avid bakers.

I used it for making cake frosting and it has a lot of power and I really like that feature, but I don’t feel that the paddle got all the way to the sides or the bottom of the bowl. I had to keep stopping to use a spatula to scrape the sides. Not sure if there is an adjustment that I can do?
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am 71 and an avid baker. I looked at several namebrand stand mixers. I noticed the Cuisinart mixer I purchased was a higher watt than popular name brands in the market for less money. I am very happy with the performance of this mixer. My wish would be that they have an attachment with the rubber sides that would scrape the bowl better and would cut down on stopping and starting to scrape down the sides of the bowl. This is a problem with all stand mixers. I have used other pricey stand mixers in the past and they all do the same thing. Would definitely recommend this mixer to anyone. Thanks Cusinart for making an excellent stand mixer at a lower price that does not disappoint.
