The Smart TV function ruined this monitor series.

I bought the 32" Odyssey G7 G70D to complete a dual monitor setup. I bought the 27" Odyssey G7 G70A, the G70D's predecessor, about 4 years ago and I'm very happy with it. The 28" G70A has been a great monitor. No Smart functions, beautiful display and very good input response. The 32" G70D has been mediocre. I wanted the 32" for gaming and 28" for 2nd display. Both displays are using DisplayPort 1.4. The picture quality is solid but worse than my 28" G70A. After I bought the 32" G70D, installed it, installed drivers, installed OS update for the Smart TV via USB. I have this monitor disconnected from the internet as I don't use the Smart functions because it's connected to my PC. I disabled all Smart functions on the G70D. I also disabled the Game Mode at first but the monitor will not allow the maximum refresh rate of 144Hz unless Game Mode is Enabled. My problems with this monitor are as follows. 1. Screen blacks out briefly, consistently even with all power saving features disabled. 2. This monitor was only offered with Smart features. Why? Samsung, it's a gaming monitor connected to a device that is connected to the internet. 3. Even with Signal Input + function and Auto Input On, this monitor powers on slow when connected to a PC. It powers down slowly as well. The previous G70A model powers on quicker even though it's connected as my secondary monitor. Overall I'm just very disappointed with the 32" G70D.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great monitor and support. Use next to a oled monitor and prefer the Samsung image. Screen had an issue and warranty coverage took care of everything. Very pleased. I don't game but refresh rate (response) is great for my eye strain issues. Recommend. Brightness is prefect, as is uniformity and vibrancy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There were a lot of options for a monitor, and after much research, I decided on the Samsung G7. At first, I thought it was just a monitor; however, it is much more: a monitor, smart TV, and a mini PC all in one.
Connected to PC with Nvidia GTX3080 multi monitor GPU - plenty of juice. Normal configuration is dual monitors with one in TV mode that I typically use to display Bloomberg TV while I trade, game, browse and work on the other - switching to PC use for true dual monitor. Ordered this monitor when my 32 inch Samsung G7 SIM gaming monitor (dedicated use) failed after practically no use over 2 years (sat idle). Immediately after receiving this monitor my primary desktop Samsung G7 failed. Different issues. The SIM monitor developed a series of bars across the bottom of the screen that made it impossible to see the Windows task bar. The second developed two dark-shaded areas across the screen in one day. Again, about 2 years use. Never would have ordered another Samsung had I known both would fail in less than 2 years. Every finger crossed on this monitor which will be my last Samsung. As for a review, it's slow to switch between Windows desktop, gaming and trading platforms - sometimes 3-4 seconds before the screen refreshes. A new glitch that seems to have started recently. When I switch from gaming to Windows desktop it's partially minimized (about 1/4 the screen for all tabs). When I try to maximize, it'll minimize, requiring a second step to maximize. Incredibly disappointed after a long, long history with Samsung phones and monitors. Quality has plunged. Definitely abandoning Samsung monitors and will give full consideration to leaving the Samsung brand with the next phone upgrade.
Black screen/turning on and off not even a full day after receiving. Just happy that this happened early on and not like that other guy, can easily return now and be done. Check the 5 star reviews and you'll see it has the "incentivized review".
The repair process offered nothing beneficial. Pack/Send the faulty product to get repaired all while getting no partial refund (or something at least) and having to wait? nah So much easier to return and get a full refund and spend money elsewhere.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use my Samsung Monitor daily for both work and entertainment. The sharp display and vibrant colors make it perfect for editing documents, watching movies, and occasional gaming. The adjustable stand and eye comfort mode help reduce strain during long hours. It’s a great all-around monitor that fits seamlessly into my setup and boosts my productivity.
