Seems to be a decent device. Sad that many features seem to be reserved for the subscription app sold by Garmin which I thought were included in the price of the product.

Best solar charge I’ve ever seen

Purchased the instinct 3 solar for one purpose. Have a device with my map that I don’t have to plug in. Let me tell you, That’s exactly what I got. Waited 3 days from opening the package to plug it in. Out of the box it had 20 days of battery life. For those first 3 days I drained it down to 17 days of battery due to set up and just playing with it. Being in direct sunlight for just a few minutes at a time through out the day brought it up to 19 days of battery in one day. The battery stayed there until I plugged it in to give it a full charge. Since then the clouds have rolled in but it’s still getting enough to hover between 25 days and 26 days of battery without plugging it back in. Despite what YouTube shows, I can transfer trail routes from AllTrails app to my instinct easily, this allows me to keep my phone in my pack on trail. I Look forward to playing with more features to see how it does with groups and in deep rugged terrain. Down side is that all apps and watch faces are third party and the pay/unlock code system process just feels like a scam. I won’t be using any of those. Still plenty of free apps and watch faces to choose from and I look forward to more coming out in the future. Very happy with my purchase.

The flashlight is a good edition

I oned a instinct 2 solar for several years. The flashlight is a worthwhile addition.
The only thing missing is ability to download maps and use them for navigation on land.

It’s a Garmin Watch

Well overall it’s just your basic fitness watch. The solar charging well not sure about that. Unless you’re gonna be in the actual sun and the face watch is facing the sun it might charge, but slowly. Overall I like it nothing special. Battery life is great unlike Apple, but just great at fitness tracking. The sleep tracking for me it’s been a hit or miss on the app. Overall give it a B-
