We were away when the first significant series of storms brought snow to our town. By the time we returned the area had received a foot of snow, and it has been several days waiting for us. This was our first experience with this (or any) snow thrower. It was a "life saver." Yes, it took several hours to clear a four car size driveway and sidewalk on two sides of the property, but it would have taken me days to clear it all with a shovel. I don't have experience with other snow blowers to give an in-depth comparison, but I'm very happy with this one. It is quiet, it is reasonably powerful, and with the adjustable chute it is easy to direct the snow where it needs to go.
With dry, light snow it could throw it a good distance. Where the snow had compacted or been thawed and refrozen a bit by the sun--or walked on--it couldn't throw it very far. But even three feet of throw was much better than struggling with a shovel. Battery life depends on the amount and weight of the snow; the more weight the harder it works. With 5 batteries and 3 chargers (we now have 5 Greenworks machines) we had enough power to work for several hours the first afternoon.
Since shoveling snow has a reputation of causing heart attacks I'm glad I had this machine to do the hard work.

Hard Working Snow Thrower!

We finally received the 20”, 80V thrower just in time to clear 18” of fresh Sierra snow. The rubber paddles work great on our deck, but left a thin layer of snow on the driveway. Not a big deal. Assembly was easy and the unit is light enough to carry easily. Run time is more than I needed for this storm. I highly recommend this machine.

So Powerful!

My wife gave me a 22 inch Green Works Tools snow blower for my January First birthday. We had wet snow that day and the machine rose to the occasion. We're having a VERY snowy winter, and we had a 16 - 20 inch dry snow dump a week later. The new snow blower handled the snow in the driveway easily. The State snow plow truck left a thirty foot long three foot-high berm at the entrances or our neighbor's and our driveways. My neighbor told me that the man who is contracted to clear their driveway told him that his gasoline powered snowblower couldn't handle such a high and dense berm. I said I'd give it a try with my new Green Tools 22 inch snow blower. It took ramming and backing (to borrow a term used in Arctic ice breaking), but the Green Tools snowblower ate our berm, the neighbor's berm and the about 2/3 of the neighbors across the street's berm before the battery was depleted. I cleared 20 inches of deep snow for two hours, using two 80 amp batteries, one of which I recharged while using the second battery. So far, I'm very impressed with how much snow the Green Tools Electric snow blower can handle

A Mixed Bag

Delivery was quick and well documented via text. First impressions, however, were not good. The box had a hole on the side, and the various components were loose inside. There were scratches on the plastic and some wear and tear on the rubber parts. This was obviously an item that had been returned, even though I had paid full price. Assembly was easy, though as some other people have noted, the diagrams could be larger and better labeled. Its operation is good. It is surprisingly powerful, though of course it does not have the power of a gas machine. I have the Greenworks mower and leaf blower and have been happy with them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Stopped Working the First Time I Used It.

I bought it in late September and finally got snow New Year's Eve. it was only 3" of the light and fluffy stuff. The blower ran for 20' then died. I tried all the tricks that are mentioned on the web to get it going again, but nothing. I have reached out to customer service and will update once this is resolved. Very disappointed so far. I have 4 other 80V tools and love them all. This one, not so much (yet).

The first snow blower I ever bought and used for first time today

I bought a 80v mower earlier this Fall, with two 5amh batteries, but came too late for use. I like battery devices and that will replace my old 36v (with the old Nicd style battery the size of a car battery) made by another company that was struggling. While I wait for Spring, it started snowing here in Utah, and I got to thinking that given the batteries are interchangeable, maybe I should get an 80v snow blower too and use the batteries with it. The "tool only" was sold out, so I bought the 20" one that comes with the 2amh battery. Means an extra charger and more batteries than I probably will ever need at once, but too much is better than too little. The battery charger was a bit intimidating...as it hums loudly and reminds me of my portable tire inflater that always overheats after about 3 min. Charged all batteries just fine (though being the paranoid type I stayed close by). Charge is pretty quick, under 30min per battery. I decided to give the 2amh battery first go, just to see what it can do. My shoveling area comprised of a two car driveway of about 50ft, a sidewalk to the house from driveway of 20ft, about 20ft public sidewalk to the West, and a long public sidewalk that runs about 100 ft to East and another 120ft along the East side (we have corner lot). The 2amh battery could not do it all, but did pretty well. Snow was about 5". It completed the whole driveway, the 20ft West sidewalk and the 20ft to house sidewalk. It then gave me a scare as machine it kept dying when I started the longer sidewalk (but appears that was when battery became too weak (still can muster to keep headlights going but just too weak for the snow). Swapped out the battery with a 5amh that easily cleared the remaining sidewalks with 2 bars remaining on power. My recommendation to anyone is to buy the 5amh battery whether or not you have as much to shovel as I do. 2amh can handle a decent amount, but if snow was deep or ongoing, it would be nice to have the extra life of the 5amh, and if one battery dies mid-shovel (or completely goes dead mid-season) it is always good to have a second battery ready at hand (so why not have that extra be powerful). Also, probably best to have 5amh (maybe two) if you are in snow intensive region where you have to shovel a lot of deep or ongoing snow. While I love the new snow blower, it does have a couple short-comings. Supposed to shoot snow 20ft, and maybe it did for a few minutes, but 12-15ft seems more consistent (depth/concentration of snow could be a variable...might shoot farther the less it is attempting to transfer at once). Also seemed to struggle with the heavy, icy muck the city trucks dump at the edge of the road, but that is heavy and crusty and likely has sand/salt and other crap in it other than snow. I was able to shovel that last in seconds manually - so no big deal. Snow blower did such a good job with the rest, I can clear the little bit at the road with a shovel and still call it a win. I'd still like a less intimidating charger (even if it is a slower trickle charger that uses USB) that I can feel more comfortable leaving to charge when I'm not there. Overall, glad I bought it.

Its a good little tool for blowing small amounts of Powdery snow...BUT
It NEEDS A HARD STEEL CUTTING EDGE!!! That Plastic crap is worthless on Concrete!! Sticks Bad!!
