Works as advertised! I was surprised how much debris comes back towards me when using the trimmer...wish the plastic cover was a little bit bigger to deflect it.

We have several of the 80v tools and love them. This is another winner. This thing is awesome! After struggling with our old trimmer, with an extension cord, stopping every 3 min to adjust the string I gave up and ordered this one. It didn’t disappoint. Tore through weeds and vines. The bump n feed feature is great. It’s a bit on the heavy side (I’m a 62 yr old female) but the battery balances it out. Love it!!!

Good but with caveat

I have a Greenworks hedge trimmer and leaf blower, like them both. I bought the model 2101202 string trimmer. It was not assembled by the factory properly - after I followed the install instructions and started the trimmer the trimmer head came off and went skittering down the driveway like a hockey puck, and into the woods. It took me a hour to find it. It didn't help that the instruction manual doesn't include an exploded diagram of how the retaining nut and collar, and I had to figure that out. One other negative: nowhere in the manual does it explain how to advance the string. Other trimmers I've owned needed to be bumped on the ground while running to depress the string head and loosen the string so it would feed outward. I suppose Greenworks feels anyone buying their product should already know this.

Unable to purchase spool cover replacement

I bought this trimmer last fall and really like it except you cannot get a spool cover replacement. My trimmer is now unable to be used until I can get a replacement. I wouldn't buy another of greenworks products until I know spare parts will be available.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This tool works well. Battery charged in 30 minutes. Full charge lasts throughout, full performance until battery shut off. Bump feed for the line advancement stuck on the second time used, easily fixed by removing spool cap.

Been using for three years. Works great. Nof ideal for heavy projects but great to have around the house. Also use to trim small field in neighborhood but has issues with thick brush

Picked this Greenworks up two months ago, now I can use the Battery from my Greenworks Snowblower in the summer too without paying for a separate battery.
Well balanced with shoulder strap tethered near controls, motor and battery compartment for maximum reach of each tool's business end.
Compatible - I loaned out my Ryobi plug-in last season and lost a few parts of it to neglect. Great to be able to step to no cords, keep using existing tools, and the power of this 80V system eases through everything I've thrown at it. Brushless, and build quality seems good. Should last many seasons as has the Greenworks Snowblower so far.
