Where's the water??

There is so little water during the wash cycle that the clothes can't possibly get cleaned. I gave the washer back and got a Speed Queen. Lots of water and a real agitator. The speed of the spin cycle forced the clothes thru the holes in the wash basket and actually damaged lots of clothes. Try again GE.

I bought this about a month ago and so far it's working great. My only complaint is that I thought when using the steam feature my whites would come out whiter, but that isn't the case. They do come out clean, but the stains on my dirty socks and on my white t-shirts remain tough stains that don't go away even when using a stain remover and the steam feature. The steam feature is one of the main reasons I selected this model. I figured it would be a miracle if the stains actually came out. The sales clerk made it sound as though the steam feature should be a discriminator in my selection because the steam would actually really make the whites whiter. Eh....Needless to say, I'm happy with this washer and not at all disappointed in my selection. But, the washer is rated a 4 instead of a 5 because it's not a miracle washer.

Still used to old agitator style washer

I guess we're still used to the agitator style washers. The clothes doesn't seem to come out as clean. Maybe it's just a perception, but the clothes just don't seem as clean. The washer has a ton of features including a steam feature. It's energy efficient which our 15 year old washer wasn't. I'll update this review once we've used it for another 6 months and have had a chance to try different settings.

Washes whenever it wants

We bought GE because in the past we had a set and it lasted without problems for the better part of 10 years. This one, washes dishes whenever it wants, we load everything up and start it and leave, only to come back to not washed dishes

It washes dishes great and it quiet and powerful, but it does not dry dishes. The silverware sections must be shaken before you take it out or it will drip a lot of water, everything else will remain wet, except for plates or anything like that. I was pretty disappointed buying something in 2016 that doesn't even do the job properly. You would never expect to buy something today that does not even do an equivalent job to those machines that were made in the 1970s.
